Here is an trip report from Mumbai to Howrah via Mughal Sarai in, 03062 Down Mumbai CST - Howrah Weekly Special It was Thursday morning, I reached Mumbai CST at 11:30 Hrs by local from Panvel... My dad was accompanying me, while bro came to give me a drop... saw the display board it shows 03062 Mumbai Howrah Vishesh 'll' depart from platform no : 18, that was the last platform of CST, while we reached the platform no :18, Chhapra - Mumbai Jansadharan arrived, it was late about 5 Hrs, I was in S-1 coach having Side Lower & Side Upper berth (15 & 16), putted the luggage, made dad sit in the train & Me & my bro were stroling the platform for some railfaning action... attached at our train, then heard Nagpur - Mumbai Sewagram Express arriving in platform no : 16, then finally an WCAM-3 KYN loco came and was attached to 03062 CSTM HWH SPL, then came back to my seat ahh atlast the lights n fans were on... some respite from heat... Train departed from CST at 12:36 Hrs, was crawing till Sandhurst.Rd, then picked up speed near Byculla wizzed past Chinchpokli, Curry.Rd crossed Parel again started to crawl and halted at Dadar CR, there after it was nice speed till Thane, crossed Parsik Tunnel, then I had some food, it was homemade Dahiwada which could had perished easily in heat so had to eat in before Kalyan, At Kalyan.Jn my coach was fully packed W/L passengers too were there... asked one of them, "Bhaisahaab kahan tak jaana hain?" he replied "Gaya", and I was quick to say "Yahan baithna nahin chalega", he had to go... Train was passing through this region at nice speed about 80-90 KMPH, and finally reached Kasara, 2 WAG-7 KYN tigerstriped bankers were attached and we were in Thall Ghat we reached Igatpuri at 15:50 Hrs, saw there Kamayani Express and just after we arrived ERS - NZM Mangla Express came, while I had gone to watch loco changing ceremony, train was attached WAG-7 BSL normal blue ones... As, we departed from Igatpuri, I felt sleepy..., So I took an short nap... ('ll' be continued further....)

Then woke up in the dawn due to cold n chilly weather (as it was winter november month...) saw train waiting for signal at Kareli, it was still dark, again felt bored an got to sleep to woke up just before Jabalpur, brushed up saw tea vendor, but was saying 6 Rs n tea too was like water so better wait up till Jabalpur... Jabalpur came, many people alighted, I had an coffee for Rs.8 (was quite nice) Re-filled water in my 5 liters can, and train proceeded to make an unscheduled stop at station called Niwar, saw the solar panels atop station, quite impressive of W.C.Rly Next Katni, there too reached before time halted there for about 30 mins, saw there, Narmada... Express... Then at Satna, about 20 min before scheduled arrival time, bought 4 samosas for Rs.10, while it was not up to mark... yuk.. yuk... At Manikpur at right time..., we are in Uttar Pradesh now... train was alright till Naini.Jn... At Naini.Jn our train was made to halt about 40 mins. there Chopan Passenger passed us with WDM-3A JHS. Then proceeded to Manda.Rd for an unscheduled stoppage as there was some problem in tracks.. proceeded from here after 35 min halt, I felt bored and gone to sleep... (More to continue, Keep glued...)
When woke up, it was already dark dad said to me Mirzapur had gone by some 1 Hr ago... Our WDM-3A PTU was working all hard to recover the lost time... And reached Mughal Sarai.Jn at 19:40 Hrs, we were routed via flyover ramp crossing BSB line, an WDP-4 SGUJ was passin beneath us to MGS... halted at MGS, a lot of people alighed there... and another set of people came for the overnight journey... to amaze me, as we wiz past Sonnagar, halted at Dehri on Sone for barely 1 min, again romping down the tracks till Gaya.Jn. Saw 12301 Howarh Rajdhani LHB rakes entering with WAP-4 HWH... Had dinner from Gaya, some nan type thing and chicken for Rs.80... Just as train left Gaya, some eunuchs were harassing... came over to me and demanded money like ransom, I just abused them like anythin in Marathi n Hindi... All fled, some co-passengers were staring at me... while felt pride of me....(no offence....) And gone to sleep...
Slept to woke up at Gomoh.Jn train was literally goning at speed of 40 KMPH and reached Dhanbad.Jn at 02:20 Hrs, while I made call to my home in Mumbai... Departed DHN at 02:35 Hrs... and we were cruising through some hilly region... halted at Asansol, and at Durgapur for barely 30 seconds..., then Barddhaman.Jn at 05:40 Hrs... Then entered Kolkata Suburban network... smooth journey, it was too cold outside, mist is all over the window pane glass...but tarin again halted at Begampur and at the level crossing heard some rickshaw van drivers abusing the train in local Bengali language...
