At last!! My dream came true-had my 1st ride in the Namma Metro today evening and enjoyed it
Reached the MG road station around 5:20PM and took the tickets to Baiyappanhalli-took the escalator up and went to the platform-the Metro shunted out from PF-2 through the loop and reversed for its journey and left MG road at 5:30PM sharp-reached Baiyappanhalli at 5:45PM
Came out of BYPL platform (Metro)-from the 1st floor I got what i hadnt expected-The IR BYPL station-WAP4 was waiting for clearance with the Kochuveli Express-seeing this I jokingly asked
...
my parents whether we could have a passenger ride to SBC-they agreed for main reason that its easy to get back home from majestic by bus rather than waiting for infrequent bus from MG road-but they had doubt with regard train availability-time being 5:50PM I said we could have a train by around 6:15-6:20Pm to SBC-they said ok
Walked through the ramp connecting to the station-went straight to the booking counter and asked for 5 tickets to SBC and handed over Rs.50/--as expected Rs.40 change was given and the ticket for 5 was issued-walk down the stairs to the platform and just was we entered WAP4 got the signal and Kochuveli Express moved out towards KJM
within 2-3 minutes there was a loco horn-from SBC side-came in a WAM4 hauling the Jolarpettai Express from SBC-after a 2 minute halt it also left
6:10PM Saw some movement from KJM side-surprised to see a wDG-4-cant be a passenger-of course it was wDG-4 twins running to SBC-they waited for signal-KZJ WDG-3A twins hauled freight came hurtling from SBC side and the 42 coacher crossed us fast-WDG-4's got signal
6:20Pm-I was still wondering which was our train-from AJJ to SBC or SA to SBC-saw the light over the curve and WAM4 confirmed it was the AJJ pass-as I told it to my parents a lady argued with me it was sA pass and they were all waiting for same-smiled to myself(SA is unelectrified territorry) but no use arguing with her a pass is a pass-boarded it and got a seat too
Train started soon and accelerated to good speed-as we entered BNCE, the WDG-3A KJM hauled passenger to Marikuppam crossed us-we slowed and it accelerated
Soon we reached BNC-A WDM-3A was waiting-not on the platform but in the pit-the board said DPJ-SBC-CBP and it was conventional rake-KJM WDP-4 entered the other side with 12786 to KCG. the corner line had the prestige Golden chariot and the LHB Raj-couldnt see the Raj thanks to the WDP-4 and WDM-3A
A surprise was in store-a DMU towards DPJ crossed us soon after we left BNC-thought it was not on sundays-and then how come a DMU?? probably the Hosur passengers staying off DPJ gets a DMU on sundays-RF's from Bangalore please clarify
the signals were through and at 6:40PM we started entering SBC after bveing welcomed by a WAP7 of LGD(Probably to lead our rake to BWT as Express), twin WDM-3A's hauling the SWR king Karnataka on Pf-1, ED WDM-3D with 6232 to MV on PF-6 and WAP4 with the 3 hrs early Pf occupier Island Express to Kanniyakumari

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
