EFI refers to Electronic Fuel Injection, controlled by camshaft not Common Rail (CR) Type. This EFI system will reduce the tremendous black smoke that is emitted by the loco. Moreover, this system will help in fuel efficiency

Here's more information on the EFI system by The Engine Research Lab, IIT Kanpur.....and guess what? The same loco 16502 of LKO that has been pictured here is also featuring in the document
