i have a reserved 2ac ticket under senior citizen fare for sampark kranti express. If while on board 1ac berth is available in the train, can i upgrade the same to 1ac by paying the difference for senior citizen fare. i.e fare for 1ac under senior citizen less what i have already paid for 2ac fare. Sir, you have already availed SC concession. You wont get the concession again while manually upgrading to the higher class. You have to pay the difference of amount to the TTE. But the already availed concession wont change

sir,i had replied to that post too and will repeat myself...no senior citizens discount available if you manually upgrade your ticket onboard...the tte does have the basic fare list with him and he will not calculate the percentage discount onboard...i have experienced this twice when my grand parents upgraded their ticket from sl to 3a...you will be charged difference of full fare of upgraded class minus the fare of the ticket you are holding...irresepective of whether you are senior citizen or not...

reezan,you did not get the question...he is asking that he has a senior citizen discounted ticket,now if he upgrades to 1a manually,will the full fare of 1a be charged or senior citizen discounted fare of 1a will be charged and the answer is the full fare...
