I have booked e-ticket SL for my cousin( using his details) from my irctc account ....i forwarded the SMS to his cell phone. ...will that be valid with his ID or he will have to take a printout to show along with his ID? my cousin is getting very nervous about this SMS thing.....
Please answer only if your sure about it. Its urgent...thanks

It is valid. SMS need not be from IRCTC itself.We have a person who had traveled recently and confirmed the same.

IRCTC Rule says:
For SMS (MRM), Three conditions have to be met:
1. Name appears on Chart
2. Valid ID-Proof
3. SMS Sent by IRCTC
But TTE normally don't go into details while reading SMS so 95%, there will be no problem. For the 5% chance of objection from TTE, he may have to give 50 rs. fine.

NO need of taking the print outs sir sms is enough and inform him to carry his ID proof without miss then there will not be any issues at all......:-)
