Entry# 3967 Reply Add Bookmark Remove Post ![]() Dear MOD, Why is it that the WL status gets stuck up? I mean the railway booking system is so dynamic. There have to be cancellations as well as new bookings. But this does not seem to happen. This is true for practically all the train bookings on WL. There is something fishy. I am not complaining to you but you could definitely throw light on this. Mr, MOD, Please reply to my above query. Why is it that WL status gets stuck up and does not change much even though the IR reservation is dynamic? IR reservation system is dynamic. WL gets stuck up, because it is possible, that WL is updated in batches, and not continously. Maybe the reservation technology is not sophisticated enough. But, before passing judgment, maybe we can appreciate the complexity of such a huge transport network, and the ticket volume it handles - so maybe there are some reasons we do not know of. Maybe, You're Right. Any thing Indian is unique. The sheer volume of this reservation system makes other countries go WHOA !!! Anyways, that sets my query to rest. I am sure my WL status shall get cleared by the end of the day. yes, the thousands of trains carrying millions of people every single day!! I'm just amazed that all of this is works day after day. Indeed the number of people carried by railways would make it one of the most complex transport systems in the world. | If you are an auth. IRCTC agent, and want your name up here, then 1.
