Senior citizens occupancy which is subsidized so its not helps railways to get more money. Remaining factors may be less than 4-5% only. I mean to say attract all the passengers of 1A to flight. if possible, to some extent, 2A passengers. Similar experiecne was with my brother. Earlier he was very exited to travel by flight from any corner to delhi(where he used to work) Later he had noticed following with flight. 1.journey time is too less that he has go office again. 2.since he is not tired, they used to give im immediate work. So, saying company to save money, he started using rajdhanis from TVC, BBS etc, which take 2 days. further, he may have one more night of rest. This is funny story he used to narrate for us. Sir, but mostly the journey in india by flight takes not more than 30min to 1hr. It can save some space in IR for common man. Further, I suppose amenities and hospitality are very good at airports and in flights compared to railways. ha ha...a new angle...new cause for travelling in trains...my god this blog has opened up many reasons for train travel... the longest direct journey by a high speed craft is 2 hrs 30 min from delhi to chennai or delhi to sbc No. 3 hrs from Delhi to Cochin. your brother is right in a fast paced work life, if we want rest then increasing the journey time is great... as one grows older the need for more rest increases in many if not most individuals you are right, tejas del-kochi is the longest at around 3 hours. my data related to the days when the flight to kochi was via mumbai...and the A300 took 2hrs30 to Chennai...Now the A321 takes 2hrs 45 to Chennai and 3hrs to COK. One thing I have learnt is to check the aircraft type...when it cmes to time taken Both Sri Sudhir and the brother Sri Bhanu Teja have directly opposite reasons for preferring train journey. But both are realistic and acceptable. It all depends on whose time/money you are earning/spending. When you have targets to achieve on your own then Sri Sudhir is the model. When one has to work to achieve targets fixed by someone else then Sri Bhanu Teja's brother is right. In my case I prefer train journeys for both the above two reasons depending on the prevailing situation on that particular occasion. In the case of Coimbatore to Chennai, I can reach my office in flat eight hours if travel by duranto or intercity as my residence and office at both the ends are within 2-4 km from... Read more... |
