Worst: I had to collect some papers from Kolkata for an urgent meeting at Delhi. Hard to believe i've traveled 8hrs standing at the door on the next day of Rath Yatra in 12864 frm BBS.
Good: Managed to reach Delhi by 12.30pm by air. Attended the meeting at 2.30pm.
Memorable: The train journey.

My memorable journey:Met my future wife while traveling in Goa Express in 1996.
My worst journey:Sitting in AC Chair car for 43 hours. The incident happened in june 1978 while traveling in Tamil Nadu Express from Madras(now Chennai) to New Delhi. Those days Tamil Nadu Express had AC Chairs. There were b/w television sets also inside the coaches. The train used to depart Madras at 7.35am and reach New Delhi at 12.35pm the next day.Faster than todays Rajdhani or Duronto.Train was on time till Vijayawada. Then the bad news of some derailment between Kazipet and Balharshaw so the train was diverted through Waltair(Vishakapatnam nowadays).I was in 11 years old then traveling with mom and brother.Luckily there was pantry car and no problems with food.Still I remember the vegetable cutlets which were awesome. They don't make food like that anymore. They would show recorded Chitrahar and Movies on TV.The

this makes me remember my family's journeys also. of the 4-5 times we had done the NDLS_MAS-NDLS trip, 3 times the train was re-routed through SC due to natural calamities/accidents. it started in 1969 & the last re-routed trip i had individually done was in 2008 by Madurai SK Express due to an accident near Balharshah. But this time, the train was stopped and re- routed after Sewagram (where it had a lengthy halt of apprx.8 hours as we were the first train immediately after the goods derailment) On my way back within a span of 5 days, i saw the derailed goods train lying near the tracks and work was going on.

The best- It was the first time that I was travelling in AC and my first AC journey was in TVC Raj 2 tier AC ( A1-25,27,29,30). I was just 11 yrs at that time. I was amazed by the service and food.
The worst- Two yrs earlier, I planned to go to TCR with my mother and brother in Hapa Tirunelveli SF in 3AC. When reaching Verna, a place in northern Goa, we came to know that a goods ahead had derailed and all the ACs were switched off. We struggled in that B1 compartment without AC for a frustrating 12 hrs!!!!!, that too in an atmosphere like the Sahara desert!!!!!!!!!!!
