In case of regular PRS tkt also, once you opt for upgrade the TTE marks your original berth as free and technically that can be allocated to next in line RAC pax or WL pax. Same can be followed in case of e-tkt. As the person requesting upgrade will be travelling in same train hence the TTE of upgraded coach say 2A class can always request his counterpart in lower class say 3A to mark the corresponding berth as free first then allocate new berth in higher class.

of misuse doesn't seem to be a plausible option for refusing e-tkt upgrade if the case is so.

There are some new Objection rules. Pl. refer to Blog Post# 1889717-4 and Blog Post# 1889777-3 . To reiterate: . 1. There are ONLY THREE reasons for Objections allowed: a. There are some changes to the Notification scheme. Previously, we had a "Notification Filter" in User Settings. But there was some confusion about this, as it was only used to HIDE blogs inside the Main Forum, mostly to filter out Race Blogs & Social/Congratulations blogs. . Meanwhile, as the site has evolved, there...

Today, we have implemented a new experimental feature called "RailFan Clubs". Some notes: 1. The purpose of this feature is to encourage RailFan meets at local stations, and to enjoy a shared interest in our hobbies/passions. An "RF Club" is essentially like a "group", wherein only members of that "RF Club" can...

A new feature has been rolled out - "Blog-based ChatRooms". . Previously, we had one-on-one private Chat feature, which was not very successful. The reason was that Chat Invitations are sometimes intrusive. The recipient may not be free to undertake the Chat, even if they are Online, and also the other person ends...

It has come to our attention that several IRI members have been causing mischief on other social media sites, distressing our regular loyal members. . They have been seen to post confidential and sensitive Govt. information on IRI, and thereafter themselves have been complaining to the Ministry that, "Such RailFan sites are openly running...

Happy Diwali to all members. Station announcements, vendor calls selling chai, loco honks, trains crossing bridges, etc. can now be recorded. Just click on the purple microphone icon while posting a blog. At this time, standard 20 second sound clips are recorded. You may preview the recording, re-record and then upload the...
