Waiting
A family waits for a train in the remote hills of Orissa. I really wonder sometimes how this country would be without the wonderful Indian Railways.

British did not teach us corruption. It's us who practice this. See what the British people did for their own country. A highly corrupted country can not do that. And introspection? Why do I introspect further. I have done that and I am tired of doing that. I do not do those things you wrote or you were thinking about. Indian mentality is such that you can't keep a public thing open. For an instance, in the railway compartments, light bulbs, fans and even parts of the seats are being stolen. People are peeing inside train and spitting red things and throwing wastes like plastics into basins and on the floor. Once a man spitted on the floor inside a train (gen. class). My father protested. So the man said- "Kya karein, hum garib admi......." (What can I do; I am an economically poor person). See the excuse!

I love this country as I born in here. But I can't be proud of this country. Mera bharat mahan nahin hai. In which respect is it 'mahan'? Population?

BTW, people make a country. Without people there is no country. So blaming the country means blaming the citizens.

This is eternal debate. Look into history we were the first to give message of friendship, good education ( Nalanda univ), culture, medicine ( aryuved), science, math ( zero invention) and it's long list. We Indian so called people of Bharat Khand were most civilized. Who ruined our culture they were mostly British because we trusted them and used us.

Nobody ruined our culture but us. Do you see the new culture? The Indo- western culture? We could not respect ours. You go in other countries who are too proud of their culture like Germany, PRC etc. You will be treated better if you try to speak their language- may be just some words, that's all. Then they'll speak in English if you recognize your weakness. But here, Indians become proud to talk in English and feel shame to talk in Hindi in shopping malls or airports. That's style but disrespect to our culture.

British reigned, Sadashiva Ray, Mirzafar, Zahangir, Auranghazeb, Rani Bhabani existed here. They helped the English win by treachery or killed own father or make own son blind for wealth. So, the culture was not imported, rather developed indigenous.

That's exactly what I was trying to explain. As you mentioned countries Germany PRC, British did not enter there and their culture protected. But in india British tought few thick heads to speak English and now it is that viral effect that indian feel proud to speak in English in their own country. Even look ourselves we are blogging in English. So therefore sir, one cannot deny or ignoe fact that what we are seeing in current form of Indian culture, situation of Indian railways, Indian judiciary, indian politician all are gift of British Raj. Britsh knew our weekness very well and they exploited that. Even now you can see our parents feel proud if their children study in IIT IISC IIM and use resources of Indian and then go to UK and USa service their country. Where as these unpatriotic selfish ctzn have lernt first letter in India. Imagine...

These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
