So the same practice is followed by trains like Korba-TVC and Raptisagar express etc. See if one can reach fast from korba to mangalore via mumbai or what? 25 posts - Fri May 11, 2012 - are hidden. Click to open. The line from Madras actually runs to Mangalore(MAQ) ! See the km markings. But since Mangalore or the northern part of Kerala was not important to the idiots running the Southern Railway, they constructed a bypass line(bypassing Shoranur). I still consider MAS-MAQ line as the mainline. Most trains going towards ERS/TVC from MAS/PGT skip SRR by using that line. Yes RPM is the first station in South. The second line was built from RPM to AJJ next to the Bombay- Thane line. Yes, unforunately RPM is in a dilapilated state now. The Railway Board is planning to renovate RPM in the process of making it a third terminal for MAS. |
