In the case of those passengers whose surnames are big like mine, the entire surnames do not appear on the reservation chart because only 15 letters or so of a passenger's name can be accommodated in the reservation chart . In that case the TTEs cannot verify the the full names of passengers having long surnames while checking them with their ID card. As checking the name and the id of a passenger with an approved photo id card is required in the case of tatkal, e-ticket, i-ticket and journey in AC coaches, I think the name should at least tally with the name in the id card.
