Lately I understood that they are not self generating. In such why was design not made to make it slf generating. If this done, IR can introduce a class which carries more people n make more revenue. Not going by which all trains need,almost every train has sl class n 3rd ac. There is a segment wherd ppl can afford more sl class but fails short of 3rd ac. 18 posts - Sun Jun 17, 2012 - are hidden. Garib rath is completely a different class of travel and the cost is less as it has only one class 3A and the loss of revenue is recovered with more number of coaches The revenue received from 3A class is more than SL class and its full in all train throughout the year unlike 2A or 1A. Is 3E is with drawn due to safty reasons. I feel they should reduce 1A,2A coaches and add some 3A coaches. It helps many as another 4-5% fare going to increase for 2A,1A from July 1st. Safety for what? All I suggested is that there should another class between SL and 3rd AC. What ever name people call it here, I don't mind. The 3rd AC fare is close 2 n half times of SL class. Hence, there should be some intermediate class to cater. Also, the GR type coach will carry more people and also as it is AC class, tatkal fare would be high. it is going to increase by 4% or so for all air-conditioned services not just 1A and 2A Ya all AC class fare will increased including 3A,CC. But more impact on 2A,1A, because now already 2A is almost double of 3AC. 1A fare not reachable for middle class man. I read some where that IR trying for double Decker sleeper coaches AC-Non AC. If they rolled out we can expect the fare reduction. That has been scrapped due to the lower cabin getting choked of dust. |
