Click to open. 10 percent is huge number...i dont think duronto occupies even 1% of all passenger trains...i feel special trains shd b announced which will act as tatkal trains...disturbing the regular ones may nt b prudent,especially when they are doing so well... Yes, I have quoted a high number. But it still its worth the price. May hay while sun shines and the passengers need is IR's income. Special trains are preferred and considerd as " Shit, I have to travel in this hell and I don't even whether I'll reach the destination ". Why should the passenger be squeezed in a spl train when he his fate is already sealed? But for drnt, they are successful and increasing the to quota to 100% as tatkal is no offence. I really don't illogical in it. I like Pradyu's suggestion. A slight modification which I feel can be done is to have this kind of TATKAL DURONTOs in all cases where the WL is huge before journey date. An amalgam of Pradyu's idea with the concept of CLONE TRAINS, which became a non-starter, once its pioneer was rendered jobless. It generates revenue for IR and seats for last minute planners. Also since seats are high and the time to reach WL will be a bit more thus giving a control over touts for at least these kind of trains. edited post-well indeed the specials run in pityful state...both with punctuality and often with the condition of coach too... Read more... Fare of the SL class is 100? It is not a money spinner or a beamer but minimum of 75/- on SL class and 200/- on AC class is sure shot to generate. Isn't that IR getting free of cost? In one word, ITS BLACK TICKETING in LEGAL WAY. fares are not taken into consideration as they wd hv bn received anyways...100 is tatkal charge which varies from 75 to 150 in sleeper So, the amount shown in bonus. that's great then. What difference would it make by increasing the PF tkt from 3-5 /- or making it SF without change in TT. This is FREE MONEY. One solution for this can be floating fare. The fare of a train will increase or decrease according to the demand on the train. This can generate more revenue for the IR, To implement this all reservation counters should be computerized. Floating fares = Dynamic fares? Suggested by many reports but was not considered. And as I said, all successful Drnt can be brought under this. Ask me more, I would say Rajdhani's are best. Premium train, rich people and more money. And that Is what IR needs. |
