I was getting out of the station yesterday night when I noticed that was the time of the WDP4. In no time a booming sound was heard closing, but that was somehow different. As it passed, I stood astonished to see the train was hauled by a diesel locomotive which is not a WDP4 version, not even WDM3D! King of offlinks I think.

Then it was surely a WDM- 3A. Recently, a BWN WDM- 2 was converted to WDM- 3A with an unusual extreme dark orange (rather, almost red) coat of paint.. I guess the same loco was spotted by you.. And that means the EMD might had failed that day..
