the average speed between yeshwantpur and dibrugarh is 40kmph.as this train is comes under mail express category the average speed should be 50kmph and everymail express type trains like cauvery express takes 7 hours between bangalore and perambur but why this train train takes 9 hours that too bieng express train

1.podanur for bypassing cbe
2.hijli for bypassing kgp
3.acc chord for bypassing howrah(not used to bypass hwh till now)
4.and well...ahummm...dvd for bypassing vskp(biting my lips):P

I support VSKP diversion but not making DVD as the by passing station.
SCMN/PDT/KTV is fine but not DVD.
1. BZA has bypassing line

You are right Pradyu. The line towards Chennai from Arakkonam takes a diversion after Perambur from a cabin called Vyasarapadi before BBQ and moves towards Gudur. For those of you who may not be aware, 13351 Bokaro Alappuzha Express used to skip Chennai Central at one point of time and move through Perambur with a 10 mn halt there. BTW I myself saw this diversion as I was arriving at Chennai Central on 29th June in the morning at 6am by 12674 Cheran Express from Coimbatore.

Yes. MAS was by passed for DHN ALLP for few months and later was restored to MAS again. Even today, diversion can do wonders for MAS as perambur is highly developed in all forms. even MS Beach is connected to the AJJ Line by an over bridge.
