sir I have read that in news paper very long before.
I guess just before introduction of BPL shatabdi(probably in 2005 ) I read an article that BPL shatabdi is fastest train in India and for that entire NDLS-BPL stretch is made fit to run 150KMPH

NDLS - TKD = 130 KMPH
TKD - AGC = 150 KMPH
AGC - LAR = 130 KMPH
LAR - BPL = 120 KMPH
This is the MPS for BPL Shatabdi.
The whole stretch between NDLS - BPL might have been designed for 160 KMPH but a train cannot do more than what has been put up above or in short cannot do more than the MPS.
Just for info i have learned that CNB-NDLS is designed for 160 KMPH operations but

but today Sealdah New Delhi Duronto is the fastest train in India.
Sealdah New Delhi Duronto average speed 89/kmph.
Bhopal Shatabdi 87/kmph.
