Part 2
I had come to see off two relatives in the last two months and on both occasion I noticed the train left a little late. the signal turned green at 1716 hrs, but the train didnt move till 1722. It was telling DQ to move ahead and not bother it. It crawled out of CST and I could see a fast local towards kalyan was waiting for us. as soon as the train got to the fast track, it just zoomed to 80+ in 2 mins and by chinchpokli it was doing over 90. crossed dadar at the same speed and then it went beserk. the WCAM 3 with this short rake, were just toying around, and i for once didnt like it to speed like that. slowed down a bit around ghatkopar and nahur and then slowly crossed

thane. You could feel that it was getting irritated by the DQ. i could hardly get to full speed for 5 kms and then the DQ would be an issue. reached kalyan at 1810. 53 kms and 48 mins. not bad in mumbai rush hour. while crossing kalyan could see the tail of DQ and it seemed the duronto can now fly. But shortly after crossing that long tunnel, it slowed down again and this time the culprit was a local. another boxn rake came in between but the duronto swept it aside. Meanwhile got my snack. a cheese sandwich, a kachuri, a sweet, two eclairs, frooti, tea coffee. by 1840 soup got served and i knew i was in for an early dinner. it was raining outside and it was looking beautiful. the train reached kasara at 1902 hrs. Just as we entered the gitanjali towards cst left. it started drizzling and the train left by 1908 hrs. slowly moved thru the ghats and it was awesome. Maharashtra is truly splendid during monsoons. the mountains had cloud cover and once the train went inside the clouds. reached igatpuri at 1930 hrs. Got down and saw tapovan express leaving from the other platform.

Part 4
I went around and had a chat with the AC attendant and the IRCTC guy. the IRCTC guy was preparing a bed on the floor. asked him to take over the berth that was empty opposite mine. The tte hadnt come. He said the TTE might not come as if there are vacant berths in 1A, he wont be coming here. seemed reasonable. still he said he would wait for a while before he comes. i went back and the train continued its amazing run. and these LHBs, the faster the train moves the smoother it gets. strange but true. maybe. the train moved into bhusaval at 2312 hrs. i checked the kms. 310 kms in 3 hrs 14 mins. since igatpuri. I was super impressed. lied down and was watching a few people on the station. the surat

- bhusaval - ??? train was stading on platform 1. not sure, which way it was going. the bhusaval - pune - solapur IC was also there with all its lights on and a dozen people were sleeping in different coaches of the train. two inside the CC as well. after this strange observation, the train left at 2335 hrs towards its next stop NGP. i tried hard to sleep as anyways i couldnt see much outside. but in all the excitement i just couldnt sleep. the train was going great again, but slowling more often than it was doing previously. woke up thrice in between, didnt realize when nagpur passed. finally woke up at 0615 am. and i dont know why. i never even wake up so early even when i have to reach office early. i could sleep anymore as i saw the P4 was doing an amazing run.

Part 5
I got up and checked the distance. 950 kms to hwh. so 1013 kms in 13 hours. Not bad, given much time as wasted in between. I was now eagerly waiting for the chattisgarh exp overtake. However it never came, or maybe i missed it (unlikely). crossed gondia and soon after i could see work on a third line is going on (actually in some stretches its already done and trains are also using it, though I am not sure when this work was started). I also realized that this stretch till KGP will be crucial coz due to the huge freight movement, trains get slowed down a lot in these areas. the train crossed gondia, dongargarh, rajnandgaon and then durg. it between did overtake a few passengers. after bhilai the train got into a parallel race with the

South Bihar express which was being pulled by a WAM 4. the duronto easily managed to overtake it and then in a wicked manner slowed down and let the bihar exp play catch up. for a moment the bihar exp passengers felt elated and started smiling more, but soon the duronto gave a full blast and at a point it seemed the other train was stationary, such was the speed of the duronto. A point to note here is due the strange/different livery of the duronto, it still manages to sneak a view from all passers by. either people get excited seeing a duronto or others (who have never heard of this train) who are absolutely stunned by this livery. No matter what, people around the tracks will stop to have a look at this train. I also noticed the blue man like image on both end of the coach are now missing. Has MB modified the drawing?
Rest i will write tomorrow, i am sleepy now. please understand
