Some facts which I observed about superfasts.
1. There are two types of superfast trains, one are the older one and some new ones.
2. The older superfasts are having more stops as compared to new ones.
3. Some express trains which were given superfast status still have the same halts and Avg speed what they were having when they were express trains.
4.
...
Some express trains have much better Avg speeds than superfast trains.
5. Although the new superfast trains have much lesser stops, but the avg speed have almost remained the same. I.e. Reducing the no. Of halts have not increased their avg speed, except in some cases..
Whats your say on this..

Train speed and time to travel between two stations depends on the traffic on the track during its travel. Delhi - Howrah route is one of the busiest routes (There are more goods trains running on this route then the passenger trains) and this is main reason of limited speed of trains on this route. As per railway classification a train traveling with an average speed of 55km/h or more can be classified as SF. Some special trains like Rajdhani, Shatabdi, Duronto, Garib Rath etc are given priority over other trains and this priority further limits the speed of other trains as IR is having limited track. Just for the information on Delhi - Howrah route there is a gap of only 5 min between two trains moving in same direction and to keep in mind the traffic safety it is difficult to reduce it, however IR is targeting it to...

further reduce it to only 3 min with the installation of other security measures like ACD etc.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
