Train Search Enhancement: The site has now added "dynamic" Trains at a Glance route tables to the Search page. The default Quick View - list of trains matching the search criteria will still be available. Additionally, there's now a link at the top "Switch to Trains at a Glance View". This is a detailed columnar format of all the trains matching the search, in the classic rail timetable format.
The difference here (from the book) is that such tables are "dynamically generated", custom tailored to the search. A typical railway timetable will have static tables with table numbers each skewing to a particular train route/region. Here, such dynamic tables can be generated for each search combination, without limit. In the attached picture,...
more... a dynamic railway timetable is created for the search from Mumbai CST to Nagpur. You may click here to go directly to the TaaG timetable /search/taag/1620/18 This TaaG timetable will allow you to directly compare the trains - one on one - matching the search. All other details, Classes, Days of Departure, Km are available in the familiar railway timetable format.
This feature had already been partially developed a long time back, but was forgotten, awaiting finishing touches. A recent blog post by our member Jhentee Jivraj /blog/post/74285 prompted us to dig it out and finish it for deployment. Thanks, Mr. Jivraj, for the valuable suggestion. Hope these tables help you with column comparisons of trains in the same route.
It is expected that this new feature will have some bugs and errors to begin with. Please let us know of any discrepancies. The feature is far from complete. We shall be making many more enhancements to these TaaG tables in the coming days and weeks. Among these will be dynamic Google route map comparisons.
Thanks.
