Faced Strange issue today - Booked a ticket on Sunday (PNR 2720783818) and obtained initial status was WL-2. Yesterday night it showed RAC-2 and a little later RAC-1.
However to my utter shock after chart preparation it shows WL-5 !!!
Has anyone faced a similar issue? I have mailed to Care & Etickets.
I would be grateful, If anyone can provide tips on...

I have seen this happening couple of times in Mahabodhi itself...i feel there something seriously wront with this train
This is nothing new. The status can upgrade / downgrade at any time. They mention this as disclaimer too. Tickets downgrade mainly because of removal of coaches as a last hour step (technical reasons etc.)
if waiting is moved/downgraded it is understandable - but confirmed/RAC tickets? Like In my case once I saw it was RAC1 before charting, I cancelled my garib rath ticket. Now I am left stranded :(
Also Mahabodhi has only one 3AC coach - therefore removal of coach doesnt make sense - Also graduating to RAC means berth is eramarked.
Well yes...IR creates such kind of fix for the passengers and leave them stranded...
