It was sometime ago that this famous SWR train was handed over to CR, which i feel has been an ultimate destroyer of this trains spic and clean image. when it was with SWR, the train was spic and clean and all the coaches were superbly maintained. Recently i happened to see this train at MTN a few days ago and i was aghast. the beautiful udyan rake was replaced by a old and pathetic looking train. The train has an RSA with the Mumbai-Solapur Siddheshwar exp. the train which arrives from SUR in the morning at 06.50 to CSTM departs for SBC on the same day just about an hr later. hence its quite understandable that the train would not be cleaned at CSTM. the train reaches SBC on the next day and then departs from SBC the same day arriving CSTM and then again departinf for SUR on the...

same day as the arrival at CSTM. CR is quite reasonable with its maintainance but it is nowhere closer to the SWR maintainance. :(
just hope that the situation improves after CR has achieved some stability in its operations

I traveled SBC-DR by 1A in late June. Was shocked to experience condition of 1A coach. A vintage 1990 coach 90026/SWR with broken cabin doors, etc.
Still had SWR markings on it....train was a bit early when it reached PUNE. Hope it gets better with the CR rake.
