comes from Tirunelveli (TEN), and gets augmented to this main portion at Erode (ED). I was on- board 16649 Mangalore Central (MAQ)- Nagercoil (NCJ) PARASHURAM Express headed by 11106 WDM- 3D of Erode (ED) shed.
HIMSAGAR Express, which held the distinction for being India's longest train for a very long time, uses the mammoth Kanniyakumari- Nagercoil- Trivandrum Central- Kollam- Kottayam- Ernakulam Town (North)- Palakkad- Coimbatore- Erode- Salem- Renigunta- Gudur- Vijayawada- Warangal- Balharshah- Sewagram- Nagpur- Itarsi- Bhopal- Jhansi- Gwalior- Agra- New Delhi- Rohtak- Jind- Jakhal- Dhuri- Ludhiana- Jalandhar Cantt.- Chakki Bank- Jammu Tawi route to cover a mammoth 3711 km in 71h 10m with 67 halts enroute. The slip portion follows the Tirunelveli- Madurai- Tiruchchirappalli- Erode route. Regular link of this train is RPM WAP- 4.
