NAGPUR: The proposal to increase floor space index (FSI) along the Metro Rail corridor has finally moved a step forward. Urban Mass Transport Company (UMTC), the consultant appointed by Nagpur Improvement Trust (NIT) to do impact assessment, has submitted its interim report, which has been forwarded to state urban development department (UDD). The government has, however, asked the consultant to do some calculations again.The government plans to increase FSI to maximum 4 upto a distance of 500 metres on both sides of Metro corridor. NIT and Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) will charge a premium for consuming this extra FSI.Half the premium will go to Mahametro, the agency executing Nagpur Metro Rail project. "This is in addition to the natural growth of population in this area," he said.According to the consultant's estimate, Rs 60 crore would be needed to strengthen the civic infrastructure in the area for meeting the needs of the 3.5 lakh extra residents. "The government feels this amount is on the lower side. Moreover, the tenement density calculations are also not correct. So we have asked them to make necessary corrections," the NIT chief said adding that while the consultant had mentioned the need for parking spaces and gardens in the area, it had not calculated the cost of these amenities.
It will be some weeks before the Metro corridor area gets extra FSI. The consultant will submit the final report to NIT, which will forward it to UDD. If the UDD does not find any lacunae, it will issue a gazette notification for amending the development control rules (DCR) of Nagpur.
The proposal to increase FSI along the Metro corridor was announced in May 2015 by chief minister Devendra Fadnavis. It was in October 2016 that the government realized that an impact assessment was needed. NIT was accordingly instructed to appoint a consultant for the job.

तैयार किए गए हैं जबकि इलेक्ट्रिकल एवं अन्य तकनीकी काम पहली बार हैदराबाद के मेधा सर्वो ड्राइव्स फर्म ने किए हैं।
इससे ट्रेन की कुल कीमत में करीब एक करोड़ रुपये की कमी आई है। विदेशी बॉम्बार्डियर कंपनी द्वारा तैयार 12 कोच वाली ट्रेन की कीमत जहां 44.36 करोड़ रुपये होती थी, वहीं आइसीएफ एवं मेधा सर्वो ड्राइव्स फर्म के संयुक्त प्रयास से तैयार यह ट्रेन 43.23 करोड़ रुपये में ही तैयार हो गई है। पश्चिम रेलवे ने फिलहाल 12 कोच वाली दो ट्रेनें तैयार करवाई हैं। इस प्रकार के और अधिक कोचों के ऑर्डर देने पर इनकी कीमत और कम हो सकती है।
ट्रेन में खास
"मेधा" में 1,168 सीटें हैं और कुल 6,000 से अधिक यात्री इसमें यात्रा कर सकते हैं। ट्रेन की अधिकतम रफ्तार 110 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा होगी। ट्रेन में रीजनरेटेड ब्रेकिंग सिस्टम का उपयोग किया गया है। जिसके उपयोग से 30 से 35 फीसद बिजली पैदा होकर ओवरहेड वायर्स में जाएगी और इतनी बिजली की बचत होगी।
ट्रेन में रूफ माउंटेड फोर्स्ड वेंटीलेशन व्यवस्था होने के कारण ट्रेन की कूलिंग क्षमता 16,000 घन क्यूबिक मीटर प्रति घंटा है। औपचारिक शुरुआत से पहले इस ट्रेन का कई महीनों तक ट्रायल किया गया। बता दें कि मुंबई की लोकल ट्रेनों में प्रतिदिन 35 लाख यात्री सफर करते हैं।

Along with BGVN-VAKAV & Akkalkot-Gulbarga section doubling work. If they will concentrate on to complete electrification in single line in full Bhigwan-Gulbarga section along with doubled line section of Vakav-Solapur-Akkalkot then we will see the electric locomotives action in full Mumbai-Chennai route. it maybe very very good news. 😍

Railway officials later secured an interim court order giving them control of the train until the case is heard again on Saturday.
"If they fail to pay the money by Saturday then the court can sanction an auction," Gandhi said of the 20-coach express train, which runs daily between New Delhi and the Sikh holy city of Amritsar in Punjab.
Several Indian courts in the past have unsuccessfully awarded trains to aggrieved farmers over unpaid dues.
Last year, an express train was confiscated on court orders after a 62-year-farmer in southern Karnataka state won a compensation case over land taken in 2006.
The intercity express was halted at Harihar station for two hours before officials convinced him to release it.
And in 2015, railway officials handed over 3 million rupees to two farmers at a station in the northern state of Himachal Pradesh to secure the release of an express train.

During the era of wcg engines trains used to get e locos till Pune and diesel locos after Pune slowly to save time all trains were switched over to diesel and now again switching back to e locos till daund. If doubling and electrification was complete then would have been good.
