NI work started for the last patch of doubling between Gulbarga and Solapur. Kulali to Swalagi will be doubled line after CRS on 8th Nov. This will completes doubling between entire section of Solapur to Wadi. This will reduce slack time of non-stop trains which are currently taking 2 to 3 hrs to flat 1 to 1.5 hr.

Kulali - Savalgi doubling update as on Oct 6, 2020 from RVNL CPM Mumbai :
Apparently there was an issue with a bridge in this section due to some local agitation. This issue has been resolved. Commissioning tolerances for the track is being achieved. Struggling with manpower shortages. Commissioning in Oct / Nov still appears in reach. Dates not confirmed yet.

As per RVNL recent update, Kulali to Sawalagi doubling is in final stage and will be commissioned within 3 months. So by the month of October, Solapur - Gulbarga (Kalburgi) entire section will be doubled.
Another progress update is from Daund - Solapur section. New platform is constructed at Jeur, also underpass work is completed. Next Target is Balwani - Jeur - Pophlaj section. Land leveling is completed and track laying is in progress. Tentative completion date is Dec 2020. And for remaining section of Pophlaj - Bhigwan, waiting for...

16340 Nagercoil - Mumbai Express running with End to End Electric Locomotive without detaching it between the Unelectrified Wadi - Daund Section. The train will be hauled by a Diesel Locomotive and dead E-Loco between Wadi - Daund Section.
16340 spotted with dead RPM WAP7 30391 and powered by Pune WDG4 12598 at Solapur Railway Station on 24 Dec 2019.
