im not sure how many of you have encountered this issue with IRCTC, in the new site, when i tried to book a ticket with LOWER as preference, and selecting the option to book ticket if atleast 1 lower is alloted, the system books the ticket with SIDELOWER sometimes. this is really frustating because LOWER doesnt mean it could be SIDELOWER as well..when this happens i try my luck to rebook, whcih sometimes succeeds in getting a LOWER berth. Very frustating experiences with IRCTC, though they have equally made our lives a lot easy.

If u chkd book only at least 1 or 2 LB is alloted, in case, no LBS are avbl. it displays message stating no LBs avbl.

somehow i have a feeling that side berths should not deserve teh same cost as the Lower Berths. couple of problems i face commonly are
1. sidelower berth sometime are not fit for sleep due to uneven resting mostly in all coaches. u might end up with broken back by the time u reach your dest :)
2. sideberths near doors are big menace esp in AC coaches
3.
...
sideberts in 2AC & 3AC looks one n the same, i dont see any major advantage for a traveller spending extra bucks on 2AC for a sidelower.
a proper maintainence & better design can deserve the cost for these which unfortunately many or all trains are lacking this as of today
do railways have done a proper justification to the traveler on this part ?. however we have lot of other common issues that might of greater priority than sideberths rightnow!!!

previously SLBs are for RAC only.. instead of allotting one full berth to single person they use to give 2 people for sitting accommodation. in some coaches it won't get aligned properly. Even then I still prefer SLB only. 2A SLB's length is little more than SL and 3A. for both 2A and 3A getting berth No. 7 and 5 will b a sort of inconvenience

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...

It has been over 2 weeks since the appointment of the current batch of FMs and 750 Complaints have been handled so far.
