Telangana-Marathwada Nagarik Vichar Samithi, headquartered in Hyderabad with branches in Aurangabad and Nanded in Maharashtra demanded for renaming of Secunderabad Railway Station as “P.V.Narasimha Rao Terminus” and sanction for Light Metro Rail systems at Warangal-Hanamkonda-Kazipet tricity and Aurangabad in Marathwada region
Secunderabad: Commemorating the 94th birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Late (Shri.) P.V.Narasimha Rao, Telangana-Marathwada Nagarik Vichar Samithi – a think tank of senior citizens mostly comprising of retired Lawyers, Doctors, Engineers and the Students from the Telangana and Marathwada regions demanded renaming of Secunderabad Railway station as P.V.Narasimha Rao Terminus to commemorate the 94th Birth Anniversary of former Prime Minister of India Late (Shri.) P.V.Narasimha Rao.
Samithi President Sunil Salgaonkar (71) said that “the Telangana-Marathwada regions got extremely benefited and properly connected today due to Project Uni-Gauge announced and implemented by the former Primer Minister Late Shri P.V.Narasimha Rao. Because of his planning and timely approvals these important railway sections of the region viz. Manmad-Aurangabad-Parbhani-Jalna-Nanded-Mudkhed-Nizamabad-Kamareddy-Secunderabad route, the Purna-Akola-Khandwa rail route and the Mudkhed-Adilabad-Pimpalkutti rail routes got converted into Broad Gauge within a short span of 10 years”. Apart from this, the Railway line between Secunderabad-Nadikudi-Guntur was also completed in time during the same period due to his vision for the region and the might. His support for various infrastructure projects in the region has actually started yielding towards greater economic development of the Telangana and Marathwada regions in particular, amongst other” he added.
Advocate Gopikishan Athwale (68), Secretary of the Telangana-Marathwada Nagarik Vichar Samithi said that the Samithi is about to install Bronze Statues of Late Shri P.V.Narasimha Rao at 100 important cities and towns in Telangana, Marathwada, Vidharba and few locations in Rayalaseema and Andhra region as well, towards a true tribute to the greatest Leader of India Late (Shri.) P.V.Narasimha Rao whose contributions not only have a highest impact on the Indian society to a great extent, but also globally. India’s growth economy and the the very potential in the region has wider impact across various global level that include EU region, USA, Mexico & Latin American regions, China and the Asia-Pacific. He was one of the most silent reformist because of whom today we have large scale IT Jobs in India, said Gopikishan further adding that if his contributions towards opening up of the Indian economy has not taken place, there would have been a large scale unemployment in India and the youth would have remained highly poverty-stricken, and importantly, India would have been rated amongst the Third World countries today with large scale unemployment, poverty, poor economy and other factors as a whole,” he said. Mr.Gopikishan further added “we have been demanding for renaming of the Secunderabad Railway Station as P.V.Narasimha Rao Terminus due to the fact that he tried to take India towards 21st century in a true spirit of meeting the challenges in Global purview. He is a true global leader and due to his vision and determination today the very roots of Telecom, IT, Software, Banking, Manufacturing and other core Industry sectors got a revolutionary support in India with proper policy based institutional support from the Government from time to time. Poverty was mostly reduced due to his policies in the country as well. Renaming of Secunderabad Railway Station into P.V.Narasimha Rao Terminus would be the right tribute to and should be approved by the Government in a true spirit and remembrance of this great personality of India,” he added.
The members of the Samithi led by the president Sunil Salgaonkar and General Secretary Ratan Joshi, Secretary Subhash Chander Reddy and others submitted a Memorandum regarding the renaming of the station to Railway authorities in this regard.
The Samithi President also demanded Light Metro Rail for Warangal-Hanamkonda-Kazipet in Telangana and Aurangabad in Marathwada as its population has grown exponentially in the recent past. Both the cities have got more than 18,00,000 population thus forming important urban conglomerates of the region. Warangal Tri-city comprising of Warangal, Hanamkonda and Kazipet is popular for education with institutions of repute, growing engineering and medical colleges, Kakatiya University and famous NIT/Warangal, apart from heavy footfall of rural folk to the city for various needs related to agricultural products and other factors, apart from various Railway related activities from Kazipet, making the region one of the fast emerging traffic corridors in the Telangana region. Likewise, the Samithi also demanded for Light Metro Rail systems for Aurangabad in Maharashtra as the city population has grown exponentially in the recent past, with major Industries, Universities, Pharmaceuticals Companies, Production and Automotive component manufacturing Plants have concentrated there.
They said that the Samiti will shortly meet both the Chief Ministers of Telangana and Maharashtra states to submit their memorandum in this regard, and paralelly the Union Home Minister.

First of all, there is 1 road which connects WL - Hanamkonda - KZJ and the city is spread around that road vertically. The width of the city is very less, only the length is more. People use share auto's more than bus. There is not much congestion in the city, why to use Metro ? PV is a great leader. But, keeping it to station is not good. Already airport at BZA ( gannavaram ) will be renamed as NTR airport after some time ( I am sure) .

The fortune earned by IR from the 200+ Passengers travelling in chaches with less than 100 seats/berths is going to unwanted Tenders. For example: in various Railway Zones and Division, just for the sake of making the Contractors 'Carodpatis', our own gallant Engineering Officials (right from AEN level to DEN/Sr.DEN to Dy.CE to PCE and importantly ME level) officers float fictitious RFPs/Tenders for various civil engineering works like construction of boundary walls in Railway lands with specific depth/width/height/length. Some contractor bags the contract. He will never fulfill the job with quality leave alone the depth/width/height/length aspects. Concerned Engg staff will prepare the Measurement Books as all perfect and close the case. Contractor gets the payment.
by next 1 or 2 years, the new story begins with heading "Estimates for Repairs to the 8 Kms Compound Wall adjoining the boundary of Railway land on the XXXX and XXXX station" with some crores of rupees as the budget. The file will be put up as per Pink Book Sanctions!!!!
This exercise of manipulating the Funds and Wasting the Public Money is rampant on Indian Railways.
Did you ever find a Stores officer (COS) with a peaceful, cheerful and happy look!! Never... becoz this post is also highly corrupt.
Calling NRIs for maintenance / adopting of Stations should not have cropped up at all, had the Railway Administration eradicates such menace from Indian Railways and its officials.

A single man can indeed clean up a system provided he has the determination, will and the sincerity to do so. This is what 59-year-old railway police head constable attached to the Baiyappanahalli railway police station, Krishnaiah, has proved while keeping a check on greedy auto drivers fleecing passengers arriving at Banaswadi railway station. Armed with just a lathi and a digital camera, Krishnaiah went about clicking the faces of auto drivers pestering passengers to take their vehicles for commuting rather than opt for the pre-paid auto system outside the station premises.
These pictures were submitted to the local police for action to be taken against the errant auto drivers. Today, although the problem continues, much is under control and the passengers,
thanks to Krishnaiah, are able to reach their respective destinations using the pre-paid auto service without being taken for a ride.
That was not the only method used by Krishnaiah. He also counselled many an auto driver who respected his counsel to correct themselves.
Several passengers who Bangalore Mirror spoke to said the menace of the auto drivers had reached such proportions that the Maruti Seva Nagar branch of the Karnataka Nair Service Society sponsored a pre-paid auto service counter, which was installed for the benefit of the alighting passengers earlier this year.
But the system functioned without a computer with only a slip with the hand-written name of the destination being handed over to the passengers. The regular auto drivers, who used to storm the Banaswadi station in hundreds every morning, took advantage of this to continue to fleece the passengers. They mainly targeted hundreds of passengers alighting from the Yeshwanthpur-Kannur Express which arrived at the station at 7am.
"I was surprised and happy to see police head constable Krishnaiah with a camera taking snaps of errant drivers and forwarding those to the local police for suitable action. He was helped by his subordinate constable Ramakrishna. The passengers owe a lot to Krishnaiah," said PK Ashokan, 65, a psychologist and a resident of neighbouring Cooke Town. When Bangalore Mirror caught up with Krishnaiah, he said, "I am really sad seeing senior citizens and women struggle to catch an auto and they are asked to pay extra fare. As a railway policeman, I am here to protect the passengers from getting harassed. That is my duty."

Yes. This cop, particularly who is from "Bangalore" deserves highest recognition. Some time back, a couple aged 60+ years arrived Bangalore City Station to reach their son-in-law house wherein, they were also carrying Gold, Silver and costly Sarees pertaining to their newly wed daughter. Very unfortunately, both the couples were grilled by 5 different auto drivers and every auto fellow resorted to taking away the luggage bags of those aged parents. The couple could not control anyone stop taking away their luggage. Finally when someone came to their rescue, some auto fellow fled away from the scene, but to their dismay, the luggage having valuables were totally lost. I could enter the spot after the incident happened and tried to catch the culprits with the help of local Traffic and Civil Polices, but to our utter dismay, they were least bothered.
then telephoned to their son-in-law who arrived the City Station by around 11.30 (from his office), and we both registered a complaint. Surprisingly, in this GLOBAL CITY i.e. Bangalore, 98% of the Traffic Police are HIGHLY CORRUPT. Needless to mention about Politicians who are known for their myopic and psychologically mad mentality in Karnataka. Bureaucratic lot of Bangalore are mere 'watch-dogs'.

At the Electronic Interlocking (EI) control cabin at the Bengaluru City Railway Station, a ceremonious plaque on the wall declares that the cabin has a “solid state interlocking system” inaugurated in 2009 by the then Railway Minister Mamata Banerjee. But the Railways staff members describe the touch screen equipment as a “blunder” and a waste of money as it is not user-friendly.
The solid state interlocking system stands, switched off, with a dark, lightless panel, obviously not in use. Instead, station masters at the EI cabin, which is the nerve centre for managing trains moving in the South Western Railway’s jurisdiction find it more comfortable monitoring the screen manually.
the new equipment automates tasks, staff members find it difficult to operate. It has a touch screen and, according to a source, staff members find it difficult to stand continuously for long hours to operate it.
Besides, the person operating it has to be tech-savvy and has to be trained to use it effectively. When personnel are trained in its operation, and by the time they become familiar and comfortable doing it, they are transferred.
The touch screen equipment needs an air-conditioned room, but the cabin room is not. Another factor adding to the staff members’ stress levels is the continuous and loud sound from passing trains and engines since the cabin is located on platform number 7. Though the staff members were promised a sound-proof room, nothing happened after that.
Sanjeev Agarwal, Divisional Railway Manager, Bangalore, South Western Railway, said the there was no problem except that the touch screen has become less sensitive and has to be replaced. He said, “The touch screen has become old. We will provide a different panel with video display and mouse, which will be easier for the staff members”.

हैदराबाद Hyderabad (HYD): Four new rail passenger terminals at Moula Ali, Medchal, Umdanagar / Shamshabad and Edulanagulapalle, on the city outskirts have been proposed to meet the rising demand of inter-city rail operations in coming decades.
The Hyderabad Metropolitan Area at present is catered by only three major
terminals for both inter-city and intra-city services with 65 trains operated from Secunderabad railway station, 15 trains from Kachiguda and 26 trains from Nampally.
Together, these three stations were found to serve 52 million passengers in 2011 and as per projections made by Comprehensive Transportation Study (CTS), the number of passengers could rise to 56.84 million by 2021, 59.99 million by 2031 and swell to 61.64 million by 2041.
Given the anticipated rise in the passenger numbers in coming decades, CTS report commissioned by Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) suggested four new passenger terminals.
A concept note prepared points out that increasing patronage for the intra-city operations would require additional right of way or dedicated tracks. “This necessitates a conceptual reuse of existing route network by shifting the inter-city terminal facilities to the city fringes and by augmenting the intra-city services like MMTS and suburban rail on existing route network,” it suggests.
Both the CTS and also HMDA’s Metropolitan Development Plan-2031 has proposed the four new terminals. Although, railway officials sought a passenger terminal at Hi-Tech City station, they were advised to go further up on the route either at Lingampally or Tellapur/Edulanagulapalle, the concept note added.

In terms of geological size and population, Hyderabad is bigger and larger than Bangalore (5th in position in India). In terms of GDP, economy and Per Capita Income, Bangalore is 5th largest. Bangalore is far better in terms of Software and IT exports and contribution to national exchequer. Whereas Hyderabad is next to Bangalore in terms of the same.
The above is based on Ministry of Urban Development latest study.

Hyderabad, Sep 1 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh government aims to complete two metro rail projects ? in Visakhapatnam and VGTM (Vijayawada-Guntur-Tenali-Mangalagiri) area - within three-and-half-years and it has proposed a similar venture for the temple town of Tirupati.
The state government has assigned the construction of these two projects to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), whose principal adviser E Sreedharan has been appointed as the adviser for the AP government on the metro rail projects.

“Initially our accuracy was 88% when we launched. But now due to machine learning techniques used, our accuracy has improved and now it’s almost 94%” says Sripad.

Railway Board to honour young Techies:
When contacted, a senior resource from Railway Board said, innovation has now become core of Indian Railways particularly when Narendra Modi called for patronage of indigenous technologies and innovations in Railways working.  Both Sripad and Dinesh has done an exemplary contribution to Indian Railways passengers this way, and they deserve recognition at highest degree.  Railway will honour the young techies at an appropriate time, he said.

But Indianrailinfo.com/pnr will not send email alerts, right? There come the difference between confirmtkt.com and indianrailinfo.com/pnr. Hope it clarifies. Inviting more and more young techies will give a lot of good solutions to IR which hitherto spend lakhs and crores of rupees on tenders/RFPs to invite EOI in such innovations, if I am not wrong.
Lets appreciate the fact that is more useful to public, not railwaymen.
