Urgent Question: *********************
I have been trying to book ticket on 18029/LTT Shalimar Exp. from Kalyan to Shegaon for today. The availability on irctc is 2. However when I go and book at the end of transaction it gives a message - "No seats available: Transaction dropped". However when I again checked the availability it still shows 2. Can anybody please tell me if I am doing anything incorrectly?
Cheers.

I have a query...I have to come to Pune from Shegaon. However I could not find confirmed reservation in Azad Hind exp. So I have booked a ticket in Lucknow-Pune SF Exp from Bhusaval. My question is can I board any exp. train such as Howrah Mail / Azad Hind exp. from Shegaon to Bhusaval? Do I need to do a reservation for that? Azad Hind has 2 seats availabe in 2 AC but the fair for 2 - 1460/- seems to much for 1.5hrs journey. Please advise.

Reserved ticket is valid for travel in the train in which you have booked ticket. You cant board any exp train such has Howrah mail or Azad hind Exp. For that purpose, you have to book another ticket (not advisable as you say its expensive) or purchase unreserved ticket from UTS counter and travel.

Assuming its 3AC (since 2A has a GNWL of only 20 now), I would say The GNWL ticket has good chances of RAC, whereas CKWL has pretty lesser chance.

Thanks for your information. Yes, it was for 3AC. GNWL got confirmed...whereas CKWL did not get confirmed.

22696/Jaipur - Yesvantpur Premium Special
This was my first journey on any Premium trains. It was a nice journey from Ajmer to Pune.
First to talk about the train, the good thing is that the no. of stops is less and I think similar to that of a Rajdhani. The food is served on the train along with a mineral water bottle each day. Compared to Rajdhani the maintenance on this train is bit less. Also unlike Rajdhani there are no announcements in the train such as arrival on a station/ welcoming new
...
passengers who boarded the train etc.
But I must say the idea of premium trains is good...even though they are special trains but unlike other special trains the treatment given to these is great.
Route Diversion:
After Vasai Road, this train doesn't take the usual route till Karjat i.e. via Kalyan; rather after Vasai Road it goes to Panvel and then comes to Karjat.
Cheers...

Hi,
I will be travelling to Chennai and have couple questions.
1. How to go from Chennai Central to Chennai Park local station? Is it safe to go during morning hours say 4:30AM?
2. From Chennai Park local station how frequently can I get a local train to Tirusulam i.e. the Airport?

From Chennai Central, just after you get out from station, take a right and walk along the way cabs go, you will come across a foot over bridge, just take the foot over bridge, you will reach Chennai park station.
Yes, it is safe, you won't be never alone. Most of the ppl, getting down, their target will be Chennai Park.
You can catch any local train from PF2 to reach Trisoolam. All the local train will be going via trisoolam.

There are two stations. Park and park town. Don't get confused. Your trains will be from park

To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries.
