How seat allocation for lower berth quota for ladies above 45 years happens? Today I booked ticket for which seat availability is in WL.. But immediately after booking seat got allocated under lower berth quota for ladies travelling alone above 45 years... Is there any way to view availability under this quota before booking?

I have a query regarding auto upgrade to higher classes. If i book confirm ticket with auto upgrade option as "Yes" whether i will be considered.. The guidelines for auto upgrade says WL passengers will be auto upgraded if there are vacancy in upper class.
Whether WL passengers alone considered for auto upgrade or passengers with confirmed ticket as well?

My PNR status is RAC until few minutes before chart preparation. I noticed there are no tickets available in that train under any quota ( like defence, foreign tourists, parliament etc..) by that time
But after chart preparation i allocated with confirmed berth.
From which quota these seats are allocated. Is there any buffer seats in all trains?

Higher official quota tickets maybe unfilled.. Emergency Quota... maybe tatkal had a few vacant seats ..Or maybe higher class had vacancies and so ur class people might have got auto upgraded...

I think HO quota is there..
Another thing I noticed once that in 1 particular train, there were 20 berths total in the 2A in AB1 coach (there was no wholly 2A coach in that train). After giving 10 cnf berths, railways start issuing tickets in RAC & after 6 RAC, they start giving WL tickets i.e. out of 20, u have given just 13 berths and started WL. This may explain ur RAC getting CNF at charting

I forgot to cancel a train ticket for which i didn't travel (Journey date : 1-Mar-15). I filed TDR for the same on 5-Mar-15 and now the status of shown as "CR Repudiate" and the reason as "Invalid TDR Timestmap : CNF"
What is went wrong with my TDR filling?

You must file the TDR within 2 hours from the actual departure. Since you filed the TDR 3 days later, you are not eligible for any refund

In case of e-tickets (confirmed or RAC), if the reservation charts have been prepared, online TDR is required to be filed for obtaining refund. No refund of fare shall be admissible on e- ticket having confirmed reservation in case the request for refund is filed online after two hours of the actual departure of the train.

It allows to file TDR upto 30 days from date of departure.
There are cases, when the PNR remains partially waitlisted, and all the passengers could not traveled, the remaining passengers collect partial travel certificate from the onboard TTE, thats why it allows to submit the TDR, as the reasons can be different.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
