Hi,
I am working in bangalore and My Family was travelling to Bangalore By 22692 Rajdhani Express. Ticket was from Nizamuddin to Bangalore and Boarding was from Jhansi on 12 may 2015 at 01:00 A.M. Journey PNR No.is 2631514597 and coach number was B7. In my family, my father, who is a senior citizen, my wife and my sister in-law with two kids of age 5 months and 6 years, were travelling. In same morning, Pantry people served only one bottle to every one in my family and in afternoon again my family members asked for bottle so they didn't reply properly and evening after Secunderabad, again my family members asked second water bottle from pantry guys and they refused to give

the water bottle and in reply, they said that only one water bottle is allowed for the people of who are boarding from or after jhansi. and after some time 5 month kid started crying because of water and my family members didn't have a drop of water and they again requested to pantry guys to give the water bottle and again pantry guys refused to give the water bottle and after that my father was thinking to buy the bottlle from outside but because of limited stoppage of Rajdhani, he was not able to get the water bottle from station also. and one co-passenger gave his water bottle and after drinking water 5 month kid was fine. Even my father also said that he'll pay for extra bottle if needed and accroding to IRCTC, if passenger is travelling for more than 20 hours on Rajdhani, a second water bottle or Packaged Drinking water should be supplied to every passenger. and in morning when i went to Bangalore City Station to recieve them then only I got to know. I went to Pantry Car and talked to Manager and the response came as expected. no proper response.
I am very thankful to co-passenger, who gave his water bottle at that time.

Not the first report of misbehaving pantry staff of this train. The entire catering department of this train is pathetic, the food is disgusting, the staff is arrogant, the quantity is miserable and tip culture is prominent. Advice your kin to lodge a written complaint in the complaint book available with the TTE in future. Dropping a complaint at +91-971-763-0982 also helps.

I agree with you that pantry manager was unsupportive but your relatives were unprepared. In Rajdhani rule is of one bottle in 24 hours so your relatives should have carried 1 or 2 extra bottle from home. Also It's well known to everyone that Rajdhanis have very less stops and small duration , so getting down at stn to buy is difficult. When travelling with small kids these are common things so it should be planned in advance .
And further , I noticed there is always confusion regarding no of bottles being supplied to passenger. So railway should print water bottle quantity on ticket so that passenger is aware of what's coming his way.

Dear Sir!
First of all i want to tell that my family (not relatves) was coming from Kanpur to Jhansi to catch the 22692 SBC Rajdhani and they started their journey from Kanpur on 11 May 2015 at 13:22 by Gorakhpur Express and from jhansi their train was at mid night 1 AM on 12 May 2015, so I think everyone will take care of this and for the summer specially every one will be prepared but no one can take 22-25 bottle from home. there will be confusion but what do you want to say about the pantry people because they are working daily and they know every thing because on behalf of their knowledge they are taking food materials from station and also they will get all the information from railway when they will get tender from the railway.
According to your saying of one bottle for 24 hours, I have uploaded one document with this blog, which was published by Railway in 2014 and in that, in point no. 6.1, Railway clearly mentioned the rule of 20 hours. and also want to tell you that rajdhani is taking 29hrs 20 minutes from Jhansi to Bangalore, which is more than 24 hours.
