Instead of this intercity, Railway can run a Janshatabdi express and reduce travel time from 4:30 minutes to 2:30 or 2:45 minutes. Current 4:30 minutes is a very huge + intercity add cherry on top by coming late almost every time.
To get maximum out of it it can start from Gwalior at 5 am reach Agra at 6:20 and and will reach Delhi at 9 o'clock (so that people can attend office), it can skip Mathura as they have 2 locals in morning.
or 6 am from Gwalior, 7:15 Agra

to 9:45 am at NDLS
or 5:30 from Gwalior, 6:45 at Agra and 9:15 at NDLS.
Stoppage could be
Gwalior, Agra cantt or Raja ki Mandi (only one will be sufficient), Faridabad (industrial area), Okhla (industrial area), Nizammuddin and New Delhi.
It could have 6 MST coaches (Non AC), 12 Reservation coaches with on spot reservation facility (non ac chair car) + 2 AC coaches (AC Chair car) + 1 MST coach (AC Chair car)
Railways will earn more + customer will get better service. I m sure that many customer travelling from Gwalior to NDLS will use this train only.
It will be a huge hit.

7 8 years back this train was a great train to travel between agra to Delhi or delhi to agra. It took 3:22 hours to cover the distance and with average delay of 15 minutes. After RSA with Gomti. It become the worst train between two cities. All most more than half days it is departing later from Delhi and arriving late too. the average delay is more than 1 hour and 30 minutes.
I think railway should stop RSA with Gomti and resume old services of intercity. Or they can run Jan shatabdi instead of intercity. Shatabdi take 2 hours 6 minutes, Jan shatabdi can take 2:45 minutes. railway will be benefited charges of Janshatabi is on higher side and

customers will be benefited. they will reach on time. No need of stoppage between Mathura and Bhallabh garh or faridabad. this will save time. No need of halt at farah town hardly persons board from this startion. Commuter can take emus from Mathura and beyond.
Or if railway want to serve poor start two emus back to back from Agra to New delhi. In this each and every person will be benefited (time duration should not be more than 4 hours between agra and delhi). but its is better to start Janshatabdi.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
