KOP is short form for C Shahu Maharaj Terminus/ Kolhapur Railway Station. The Train Starts as one Splits into three at Guntakal. One headed towards Tirupati and another towards to C Shahu Maharaj Terminus. The Trian also headed towards to Tornagallu, Hospet Jn and known as Haripriya Express.

Rayalsema doesnt get split into two. Few coaches are detached at Guntakal and attachd to Haripriya express from Tirupathy going to kolapur via Guntakal,bellary and hubli.

Please Start a Super Fast Train From Kottayam-Bangalore city Jn. Island is too slow. Extend the Kochuveli-Yeswanthpur Super Fast, the new train to Shimoga

These days, we have technology whereby you can post in any language or script, directly into this forum. We could have easily given a long dropdown box with a language option, but we don't want many different people having their own private conversations in their own languages.
That's why English & Hindi are the options given here. Most people in India can speak one of the above two, and so everyone can take part in a discussion. Also, international tourists - European, Japanese, Chinese, Arabic - visit this forum for advice. Once again, although they speak their own languages, they do understand and speak English as well.

Did you ever come to Kottayam?
There is a 3rd platform which is using only for passengers and 4 railway lines for goods trains.
Kottayam can atleast afford 5 daily trains in different time.

Sorry,I won't repeat it because Kannada is also an Indian Language like Hindi,Marathi,Tamil,Telugu,Bengali and Malayalam.

BY thrice, do you mean three times (or) three stoppages?

It enters Karnataka from MH (Gulbarga), then again enters AP(Krishna), leaves AP and again Karnataka(Raichur), again leaves to AP(Mantralayam), again from AP to TN(Chittor), from TN to Kerala (Palakad) and finally to TN (Nagercoil).
What a fantastic train ! ! You can see entire south India -- Kanyakumari, Trivandrum, Ernakulam, Coimbatore, Salem, Vellore, Tirupati, Guntakal, Raichur, Gulbarga, Solapur & Pune. Tip of the country to west coast to East coast and then again to west coast.
Of course, it is not touching Goa. May be this train can be diverted so that it completes one full circle ! !

Let it enter and leave any State as many number of times as long as the passengers are not required to pay any State specific tax. Infact, its only your extra knowledge that you find out all these State entries and exits, rest all passengers travel without knowing and are happy that atleast they have a train to serve.

I understand that thie train is run for a point, please understand somebody traveling through the circuitous route obviously pays an higher fare, so don not dispute the economic angle of it being costlier. I presume it is currently used by most people to travel to intermediate stations as accommodation is readliy available in comparison to Netravathi or so.

Even if you deem the train to be horrible please understand that it serves a very important purpose.I agree it stops alot but atleast you have a train which connects pune and trivandrum and it is one of the most important trains as per people in the south,they respect it very much.

In Normal Circumstances for certain trains, the compartments for the two directions will be different. At Ambala, they will detach some compartments which are intended to other route, and a new engine will take them.

You would not be required to get down at Ambala and change train or bogie. While booking the ticket,you will be provided accomodation in only one of those bogies which is meant to go to Kalka.

No changing the train @ Ambala Cantt Jn. The Paschim Express has some coaches of Ambala Cantt - Kalka route and those coaches are detached at Ambala Cantt and attached to another train towards Kalka. You will remain seated through out your journey from Bandra to Kalka. In the Railway terminology - the Ambala Cantt to Kalka route is called a slip route for Paschim Express/2925.

In the main Train Details section, someone has noted "No Fixed Platform" as the departure platform. However, someone with first-hand experience might respond, which the departure platform is these days.

After prepartion of chart, the platform number also will be allotted by the Railway authorities. Please do check the PNR status after chart preparation (2 Hours before schduled departure of train). You can decide where to take your car. Anyway, it will be convenient for you to go towards Boiguda for ample car parking space.

the station length is no more than 12 platforms in SC. are you unable to walk?

Thank you very much, prasad, for the detailed reply. I did not ask the question but platform information is very important to me because I can save a lot of money on hiring a coolie. Anyone can walk 12 platforms. When you are in the station to catch a train to another city, you are not empty-handed. You have heavy pieces of luggage

so you travel with a lot of heavy luggage causing problem to fellow passenger.

SC has only 10 platforms but not 12

Where is Jain

two verendah each side makes it 12.

It is generally from Platform No.1

as far i know it starts from PF 9

on Howrah (kolkata) station have faculity. you have to pay for it.you can park your car inside the platform. that is only one platform (between platform no 8 & 9)

All the details of Durontos are published in Page No. 57 of New Time table. It is also mentioned that introduction date will be notified later.

These trains are under active consideration and likely to be introduced by next budget.
