Update on proposed railway in Andaman & Nicobar Islands
Picture shows the Lt Governor, Prof Jagdish Mukhi calling on Union Minister of Railways, Mr Suresh Prabhu in New Delhi on Thursday. The Lt Governor discussed the proposed rail project connecting Port Blair and Diglipur. He informed that the rail project from Port Blair to Diglipur will be the first project in which an Island will be connected by railway network. The railway project will help promote tourism, increase trade and business to a great extent besides generating employment for the local population. The Minister observed that Government of India is very positive towards the rail project in the Islands.

I think common problem with NWR Stations is
Lack of facilities even proper flooring...
However, most of them seem cleaner than their eastern counterparts.

While passengers waiting for trains will have adequate space on the first floor of the station, those disembarking will go out of the station through platforms on the ground level. The second floor will house offices, as per the plan.If everything goes accordingly, there will be a joint inspection of New Delhi station with South Korean team soon.
These redeveloped station would have digital signage, escalators and elevators, automatic self-ticketing counters, executive lounges and many other facilities for passengers.
The redevelopment of New Delhi station is part of Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu’s emphasis on attracting substantial revenue through redevelopment of 400 stations with private participation.
The railways has recently launched the first phase of the ambitious station redevelopment project for 23 junctions.

& station redevelopment ke liye education ki nhi capital ki jaruat hoti hai.

दिया गया था, पर उसमें भी उसकी सांसें फूल गईं। रेल ट्रैक क्रॉसिंग पर अंडरग्राउंड केबल डालने के लिये कंपनी ने अपने हाथ खड़े कर लिए हैं। कंपनी की न के बाद बिजली ट्रैक पर इस माह होने वाली इंजन ट्रॉयल को भी रेड सिग्नल मिल गया। रेल इलेक्ट्रिकल आरई विभाग ने मार्च में बिजली से ट्रेनों को दौड़ाने की तैयारियां शुरू कर दी हैं।
आरई जोन इलाहाबाद ने नए सिरे से विद्युतीकरण के काम में तेजी लाने के लिए छिवकी-जबलपुर-इटारसी के बीच काम को चार खंडों में बांट दिया है, जिससे इस परियोजना के काम में तेजी लाई जा सके। रेलवे बोर्ड ने इस काम के लिए 15 माह की अवधि निर्धारित की है। आरई विभाग के इस प्रोजेक्ट को पूरा करने के लिये मार्च 2018 तक कार्य पूरा करने का टारगेट दिया है।

छिवकी (नैनी) से इटारसी के बीच सतना-रीवा, सतना-कटनी, कटनी-जबलपुर व जबलपुर इटारसी रेलखंड के विद्युतीकरण कार्य को वर्ष 2012-13 में मंजूरी दी गई थी, 653 रूट किमी तथा 1611 ट्रैक किमी जिसकी लागत लगभग 861 करोड़ 33 लाख रुपए है, के विद्युतीकरण कार्य की जिम्मेदारी चीफ प्रोजेक्ट डायरेक्टर को दी गई।
