I went to see off my wife at New Delhi station on 10/11/12, booked a 3AC [confirmed ticket], and for a moment I thought, I was standing on the entrance of a IInd class coach without any reservation. Whaat a nightmare, I had. It took me nearly 10 mins to get my foothold on the coach, now you can understand my anxiety, as the scheduled stoppage time of this train is of 15 mins. As a result, I lost my cool, my temper and started to push people I had to, just to get her inside, the train, which was hopelessly suffocated!!! You will appreciate that this is festival season and this train is 3A economy. You must have seen the SL crowd during the festival season. Even cleanliness of this train has deteriorated day by day. It is better to travel in normal 3A of any train during this period. I have nothing more to say other than the fact, that I completely agree in verbatim on what you have replied. I had fancied Garib Rath, and once booked from ERS to LTT, in Kochuveli-Mumbai LTT Garib Rath Express/12202... But experience was so bad. Even Sitting class was in worse condition. When I boarded the train, my berth was occupied by an extra passenger and that was an elderly lady going with group. She had not even WL ticket, but had purchased on last day of travel. and TTE never came to check. Whole night was spent listening their 'chattering'. Day time was passed in squeezed sitting. an they carried lots of luggage... the compartment of Eight berth looked like a mini cloak room.... I learnt the secret: why this train is called 'Garib Rath'.... Only Laloo knew till then... Till now I only had the feeling that the Eastern and the North sector was a one off situation, in the worsening situation of this train. And out of curiosity, and to verify how the Seating is in GR, I passed through 4-5 boggy's vestibules, and saw from the 'glass door' that separated Seaters from Berthers, Leg spaces were not comfortable, and Seats too seemed not too cushioned. I do not remember whether there was any cushion or only ply wood? But I could see that Garibs are made to travel in AC and made to feel 'You poors... you deserve NOT more than this...'
