U r absolutely right!!!
The train is having fantastic run in between HWH-MGS (even much faster than Himgiri Exp)
Then it enroutes BSB-PBH-LKO, with lot many stoppages (Via Main Line is written on board, but BSB-SLN-LKO is main line, not via PBH)
Further, LKO-MB-ASR is quite better, but Roza Jn type stoppage dosnt sync with this train!!
I
...
think, IR run this train like Intercity in between BSB-LKO-MB & thats the reason for this train to be bumper houseful (5 AC, which no other train between HWH-ASR/JAT owes)
I have seen Generator Brake Van (with generator on) once in this rain (& never has seen generator van in any other mail/express)
PS: When IR is having HWH-ASR Express (Duplicate Punjab Mail - always empty with 4 SL & 1 3A), serving as back-up, ASR Mail stoppage should be revised, so that HWH-ASR Exp will make some more crowd & Mail will get speeded up, with less MST/Intercity Crowd!!

Vinay, via Main Line as displayed on the board is correct because it is actually referring to the HWH-MGS Main Line via PNBE as opposed to the Grand Chord Line via Dhanbad-Gaya. The reference is not to the BSB-LKO line via Sultanpur.

TKX for the info!!!!
All but one HWH bound train enroutes Gaya (from LKO), so every train is thru main-line!!!

I think this train desevs to be made into a daly train instead of thrice in a week as we can see tht its occupancies are always above 80%

Sir
Lohit & Amarnath are its counterparts, on other days!!
Its 80% full, but with 20 Coaches (1 3A & 1 2A), so have possibility to add more sleepers!!
Further, as per your info, its 20% empty on exiting days, making probability of 100% emptiness n extra days!!

I do not know for this train, but for HWH - YPR duronto, eunuch problem was there as reported by bloggers earlier. Duration for technical stoppages can be 10 min/15 min. Yes, water filling, loading of food ios done at these technical halts.

so long as the train reaches in time, we are least bothered it is powered by wap4,5 or 7 or wdp. point is to reach in time with whatever engine suits best according to railway standards. they are attaching wap4 with some reason, like to haul heavy duty (24 coaches). here u cant expect both accelaration and haulage at the same time. thaanks

I think there should be atleat some 2-3 stops for duranto trains. Atleast at the places where they are changing the crew. This would be helpful for all the other passengers on the same route.

you are both right and wrong...duronto doesnt mean stops between and hence gives the passengers a commotionless ride thru the entire journey. having said that it seems chennai delhi duronto will do better if it gives stops in between. its the only flop duronto. however i feel its a flop coz of its timing than anything else

we faced the problem just after the train left yesvantpur it seemed that the eununchs boarded the train from yesvantpur only..... the second group came next day at around 9:00 o clock just after the train left bbs.... they boarded the train from bbs i believe where it stopped for technical reasons...... also note that no one is allowed to board the train from technical stops but eununchs are allowed to board the train from technical stops by the RPF... they extorted Rs 20 from each of us

ohh my god...where did they get down then after ypr...and the ones who boarded from bhubneshwar....I think its a serious issue which needs to be reported to the medias first and then to the higher authorities b cos durontos don't deserve this as they fall under rajdhani category...

i had the oppurtunity to travel by ypr-hwh duronto.... well my experience was a mixed one.... the service of the train, the food quality, the overall getup of the train was fantastic....no harassment of daily passengers,no hawkers,beggars.... however like all other mail/exp trains eununchs pose a major problem in non ac sleeper coaches.... mainly due to the patronage of RPF's they r having a free run in duronto non ac sleeper coaches... whats more disturbing is that here they will not settle for anything less than Rs 20 as against Rs 10 in other mail/exp trains... when the breakfast was served a group came and harassed the passengers in our coup very much since we were all young male passengers between 25-35 years age

i see some of the bloggers are complaining abt the fare
pls pay that extra 25 rupees or whatever that amount is over other trains. want to know why?
1. there are no commercial stops. so you dont encounter people getting up and down and the related commotion.
2. less passenger movements ensure cleaner trains.
3.
...
no hawkers or the pantry guy will wake you up at 6 am trying to sell tea/breakfast (its impossible to sleep in train these days after 6 am, im sorry but i cant wake up so early)
4. the enunchs dont get on the train. this is specially helpful for young males and they are subjected to all kinds of harrasment (pun intended)
5. always manages to draw a lot of attention with its unique colour of coaches. onlookers keep wondering whether its a train or a fruit cake (though this shouldnt be a criteria for paying more)
and why someone is asking for ac 3 economy. the price different is just rs 50. so its not all that cheaper.
