Railways should review it's reservation policy. I want to book tickets from MDP to JAT in 3AC for travel in April 2013. Current status is WL for all dates. Given that this train gets an additional coach on a regular basis, what are the chances of WL 20 getting a confirmed berth. Also, what is the quota allocation in this train. I know for a fact that there is a separate quota for Patna. Patna quota is running into WL too. At the same time, confirmed berths are available in Archana Express. Is Archana Express unreliable when compared with Himgiri? My opinion on this train: It should run between Ranchi and Jasidih with a connecting service to Dumka (timings of Dumka Jasidih passenger can be modified according to this train). Ranchi to Jasidih timings are good. In return journey, it should leave Jasidih at 1 PM and reach Ranchi by 8.30 PM. Looking at seat availability, this train is not popular. it has not been even a week and guys have estimated the popularity of the train.please have patience dear sir. many are still unaware of this service. further, this being an intercity train will fill up at last minute. also jasidih is already well connected to ranchi. some trains have been running for years with less than 30% occupancy still people are hopeful of the train turning into a superhit in near future. This train is started to connect rajdhani with uprajdhani.How can u imagine to run this train from jasidih?From jasidih there are enough trains for ranchi.It gives direct connectivity to ranchi.Yes timing is not good but with a single rake only this timing suits.Another thing can be done is to start train like Banka-patna express .One way in day time and one way in night time wiyh SL,3AC,UR. 2 posts are hidden. Click to open. If there is a morning train from Dumka, then you do not need BDME-RNC (the latter does not have good occupancy between DHN and RNC. It does get good patronage between BDME and DHN but not further). Secondly, is Dumka as safe as Ranchi at midnight? may be the occupancy is not much..but still there are lots of paxs who go to ranchi by this train.moreover it also touch gomoh..an important place to go in various directions..so in all way..BDME-RNC is great in its throughout entire journey. as DUMK-RNC timing is concerned,that was really tough for ER to decide.. coz taking the train to dumka at night was really not feasible..atleast getting to ranchi at nite is quite safer 1 posts are hidden. Click to open. this train should run via katrasgarh only. running the train via gomoh takes more time. with ranchi shatabdi running behind, this train may be detained at chandrapura to allow shatabdi to cross. when this train was newly introduced, it would be detained at bokaro. by the time it reached gomoh, one could see shatabdi's engine reversed and ready to depart (dhanbad-katrasgarh-chandrapura line was not electrified at that time and both trains ran via gomoh). this train has been a victim of shatabdi in both directions. 1 posts are hidden. Click to open. i dont agree..it should run via gomoh for sure.as it is the only train which connects BDME-JSME-MDP-CRJ pax.to gomoh..which is an important junction for various routes.most importantly to koderma,gaya,parasnath n others.gomoh is useful for long journey trains also I agree that connections to koderma, gaya and other destinations are important. Pax can always get down at DHN and take connecting trains to their destinations (there is no shortage of trains from DHN). This train runs packed from BDME to DHN. Few pax enter at DHN and alight at GMO. Few more get down at BKSC. The train runs almost empty till RNC. My suggestion was to cut down on time taken on engine reversal and to stop victimization by Shatabdi. i see no problem,if it continues to go via GOMOH..gomoh is an imprtant terminal..and this is the only train providing access to it..yes,rake reversals,overtakes makes it a little delayed..but nothing so serious about that. Anyways, its unlikely that i will board this train anytime soon. It provided day time connectivity between my home town and ranchi (attended college there). Wap4s are premium locos and are used to pull long trains like 20 and above and for long distances.. Atleast it should get a TATA WAM-4.why wasting diesel. 12141 is a SF train. changing locos from MGS to PNBE (travel time of ~3 hours) wouldnt be wise. Loco change at ALD would be wise (travel time of 5.5 hours) but it will take an hour more. Further, the train that reached PNBE in the morning can return after 4 hours (I may be wrong here) leading to more efficient use of resources (fuel and rolling stock). yes i know.. But it doesn't goes to allahabad.. So i suggested otherwise.. Read more... This train may be a success as not many ppl use DNR-TATA to travel beyond ASN (due to its timings). An early arrival of the proposed train might help. Also connecting Dumka with the rest of important cities in the state will help. I do have a point. The proposed train will have to change loco at JSME, so why not change from diesel to electric at JSME itself. They may also choose to reverse the diesel loco at JSME and attach an electric loco at the back of the train to save on time spent at ASN for loco change.
