Secondly there must be a route between Varanasi and Kanpur avoiding both Lucknow and Allahabad. I normally travel in Rajdhani or Duronto, plus seeing the schedule of Swatantrata Sainani and it's delays I would most happily choose a crawler over it anyday of the year
I need to arrive at my destination on the scheduled day of arrival not the next day 😂😂😂😂

As I said I don't know much for technicalities but I do know that whatever time it takes atleast it'll run on schedule as compared to the current route. And Allahabad will also be free giving it options of getting new trains

Vikramshila takes around 5 hours to cover MGS CNB
Poorva (via BSB) takes 6 hours 20 minutes to cover the same , even if 1 hour is added for Phaphamau to Unnao or 2 it comes to 8 hours 30 minutes which is acceptable provided it runs on time.
10 hours on time run in a line with less traffic is also acceptable atleast the train will arrive when it's supposed to

Unchahar route is single non electrified less congested low MPS route using outdated signalling system
But still the greatest advantage is LESS CONGESTION
People are only concerned about the schedule maintenance and less delay by the train not time taken, people still take Poorva Express even when it takes more time than Duronto and Rajdhani and longer route too.

Yes at Kanpur just before entering the station from Allahabad Side the last time I travelled through it it was under construction at the time I travelled, and I've never gone through Lucknow because the trains in which I travel (mentioned before) never go through there

As I mentioned before in the trains which I travelled through Kanpur Allahabad route, I have learnt one basic rule from almost everyone that I travelled with co passengers, coach attendants, TTE's, and other people, they all told me just one thing
"IN THIS ROUTE IF YOUR NOT TRAVELLING IN A VIP TRAIN THEN YOU'RE SERIOUSLY IN TROUBLE"
Believe me I haven't travelled near Lucknow or Sitapur Cantt route BUT I've travelled a LOT

BTW I have also travelled in Unchahar express from Allahabad to Ambala cantt.
That's why I suggested that route, because it covered a lot of delay there

It left 50 minutes late because of late arrival from Chandigarh and covered it before Unnao
