After a gang of autorickshaw drivers was nabbed for robbing the passengers after picking them up from Pune Railway Station, the government Railway Police have increased the surveillance at the station premises and have started making announcements asking passengers to take precautions while boarding as well as during the travel.
Earlier this month, the cyber cell of Pune Police had busted a gang of autorickshaw drivers who had looted over 50 people in a year. They picked up passengers from the Pune station and stopped their vehicle in midway, claiming a break down. They would then offer to arrange for an alternative vehicle and called an acquaintance, who later robbed the passenger.

We have also increased the patrolling at the premises to weed out such elements. We are also trying to keep out make it compulsory for all the rickshaw drivers to display the identity cards issued by the Regional Transport Office (RTO).”
Apart from latest allegations, the rickshaw drivers at the station have also been alleged of overcharging, behaving rudely and harassing passengers by nagging them to hire the autorickshaw the moment they exit from the main gate.
Shreedhar Salunke, a salesperson employed with a Pimple Gurav-based firm, complained that although there is a prepaid autorickshaw booth at the station, it’s difficult to hire the rickshaw. “As soon as you exit the main gate, they pounce on you but none of them is ready to ply by the metre. Even if you try hiring one from the prepaid booth, there are hardly any rickshaws,” said Salunke. The GRP, on it’s part, said that it’s the responsibility of the Legal Metrology Department and the traffic police to rein in the rickshaw drivers who don’t ply by the metre.

Leave about Hinjewadi, it's far away from main city.
Just visit PMC (MaNaPa), Shivajinagar, Swarget, Hadapsar and check frequency of buses in main city and how many people uses it.
Also FYI, PMT has increased frequency for few buses to Hinjewadi.

My friend Hinjwadi is indias one the biggest IT SEZ. More than 1 lakh IT people working there. Main city means not that 15-20 km surrounding area Many cities are now 60-70 km in india.
I agree on inside that city area buses. But they not more than 20-25 km one route.
Please visit Hyderabad, Chennai where you can find buses from one end to other. The percentage buses is much lesser in Pune.

Travelled in this train from HWH-YPR for the first time. Few observations.
• Train left bang on time from HWH. Immediately after 10 minutes came the bed roll attendant exchanging pleasantries, asking where I was going etc etc. Lot of sweet talk for obvious reasons which I came to know when the trip neared its end.
• There is no pantry car so it does become difficult if you want to buy something. One is at the mercy of vendors who charge more than the prescribed rates. A very small qty of tea & coffee

• Train was delayed due to a signaling system failure at Barang near Bhubaneshwar resulting in a delayed dinner being supplied at 11pm @ BBS !!! People who had placed orders had to be woken up.
• Non stop run between BZA & Renigunta does have its challenges if people want to buy something and nothing is available.
• From Renigunta ,train takes the Renigunta, Puttur, Tiruttani, Arakkonam Byepass, Melpakkam, Walajah Road, Mukundarayapuram , Katpadi route. The intermediate station updated in this site is incorrect and needs to be updated
• Towards the end of the journey comes the ‘TIP’ taking ritual…first comes the bed roll attendant followed by the OBHS staff. This is a menace which railways needs to seriously put an end to.
• Even with LHB coaches, the side berths in 2AC are very narrow, with no charging points. Always good to prefer the bigger berths
Train reached YPR at 10pm, delayed by 6 hours. Probably due to the less slack time, the train was hardly able to makes up for time lost even though it had non-stop run at many places.

Departed from HWH on 10-Oct, reached YPR on 11-Oct. There was a signalling failure near BBS. What was extremely surprising ws that lots of trains were held up between Cuttack & Khurda road and there was hardly any update from the Ecor on twitter/FB or anywhere else. Usually nowadays , I have seen if there are any disruptions, the respective division/zone does provide some update to keep passengers aware, but it was missing here

Surat has airport , where is demand is there they have flights.
Vadidara is just 1 hr45 to 2 hrs for ADI , People use Ahemdabad easily. These 2 cities not effected by this pricing concept as they have any premium train with originating point.
Flights effects route which have premier trains with full quota.

Please read my first comment properly I have mentioned intermediate stations enroute like Surat Vadodara Nagpur bhopal. I have also mentioned if demand is less between end stations they can increase quotas for these cities.

You are asking about CTC and KUR ?? CTC is a major railway station of ECoR and Odisha..it's a major city of Odisha...and KUR is also a major junction....
We won't hv any prblm if OGL halt is introduced.. we ppl of Odisha hv nothing to do with it but don't raise any question about stoppage of Coro at CTC and KUR..

NEW DELHI:  In an attempt to attract upscale tourists, the Indian Railways will come up with glass top coaches, which will be introduced on regular trains in Kashmir Valley and Araku Valley in Tamil Nadu.
These coaches have been jointly designed by the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), Research, Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO), and Integral Coach Factory (ICF), Perambur (Chennai) and would be introduced in December.

The trains having such luxurious coaches giving an aerial view would be decided later, he added. These coaches, the first of its kind in India, were being manufactured at the ICF, Perambur and each coach would be built at a cost of around Rs four crore.
“The basic objective behind such a project is to promote tourism and woo upscale tourists from both India and abroad. There are some trains with glass ceiling in foreign countries, like Switzerland, which enjoy the patronage of tourists. We believe such coaches would also give a fillip to rail tourism in India,” Mr Manocha said.
Giving details of the project, Group General Manager (Infrastructure) IRCTC, Dham Ghaj Prasad, said the coaches with glass top ceiling would be the first of its type in India and would rival the best anywhere in the world.
“Work on the project started in 2015 with a series of meetings on the specification of the coach design. The first such coach is all set to roll out this month (October) itself. The coaches will be ultra luxurious with rotatable chairs to provide the passengers an aerial view through partly glass ceiling,” he said.
Further, the coaches would have ample leg space and also equipped with modern infotainment system for the benefit of tourists, he added.
