Thanks to all my friends here for giving me a detailed information. Hope there is less rush during this season. This is my first journey in Raj and I planned my journey specifically to board this train as it is the new LHB rakes. Saw the new rakes on YouTube posted by Indianrailways. This guy has a great knack for taking some excellent videos.
So the timing for Raj at Mangalore during January would be 5:30 pm. When does this reach Kollam in the morning?

Ashok, 7:48 timing is till Oct 31st.
@ Vinod Sir, Rajdhani will reach Kollam around 3:45-4:15 am... Timing i am not sure is beacause since Kollam stoppage was introduced to Rajdhani, it was following the monsoon timings. When i travelled in this train in January, train skipped Kollam Jn around this time. It will reach ERS by 0100 hrs.

Hello Everyone.
Was wondering why do we need to run the EOG in Rajdhani and Shatabdi with Diesel Generators. Is it not possible to connect them to the engine for power in electrified sections and run them on diesel only on non-electrified sections? Saves a lot of precious fuel.
I do not know if this has been discussed before. I had joined only recently.

The proble is of electric locomotives. They get limited due to other train usages.
You will not belive that Mumbai-Ahmedabad route is totally Electrified but still Bandra-Delhi sarai rohilla garibrath express runs the whole route on diesel engine

The recently introduced HOG (Head On Generator) WAP 7 is used for generating power to the whole rakes of Shatabdi/Duronto?Garib Rath/Rajdhani. The trains being carried by this particular loco dosent need any EOG (the EOG's are switched off during journey). We can hope to see more of such HOG's in the future..

That is good. I feel this should be implemented ASAP to all the other Raj and Shats. I read this is how the trains in other countries run with the power provided by HOG. Anyways, better late than never. BTW, the new rakes in TVC Raj rocks!!!

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
