There is a lot of load on the site from 8.00 am onwards as the tatkal booking for each train starts all over India. I was trying for a tatkaal today for the 4/7/10. At 8.00, on clicking book 16 were avlbl, when I was entering travel details and went tp payment gateway, it was 5 avlbl..time 8.01. Stuck at the gateway for 3 min. When checked back on other site, it was already in WL at 8.05 min. So imagine the load!!.
Friendly advise: Do not go for ONLINE TATKAL booking...instead go the PRS counter.

It has already been mentioned in these blog several times that irctc site is too slow in the morning between 8:00 to 8:15 becuase of Tatkal bookings. So bloggers are advised again to rush to the nearest PRS counter, well before time to occupy the first or second position in the que. PRS counters open at 8:00.
