I wonder if the Public in general is experiencing the erratic behaviour of IRCTC website for the last few weeks! Earlier it was hard logging in between 8:00am to about 9am, but once logged in it was rasonably quick. Last few weeks it has become very slow, most of the time it is very erratic!
I hope that IRCTC is aware of the severe weekness of its portal. I am not sure, but I though in the rcent budget proposal there was a mention of launching of a new portal for Indian Railways. I wonder whether this would anyway help the IRCTC's website performance?

few made comments new portal few commented additional portal ., but yes irctc site giving problem and also being slow many time during payment system time out happens !!
Can any Indian Railways passenger explain how the chain linked mug in the Western toilets can use it? The chain is short and the mug does not reach the destination! I wonder any of the designers of the railway bogies have used it and see if it is possible for the mug to reach its destination.
I will treat any one who can explain the logic of the short link and how it can help!
Issue in Public Interest.
First of all the chain should not be there with the mug. but thanks to the mindset - ram naam japna, railway maal apna- railways are forced to use mugs chained. even this chain which you had seen is a lucky chain as it has not been stolen. even the chains are cut and taken off.
I am rather very much at a loss to understand as to why the Elevators installed at the Bangalore City Railway (SBC) Station with Indian Railways funds are not operated for months. Even the newly installed one which I saw with garlands over it's door on 28th April when I was travelling to Chennai, was not in service apart from the other elevators. These elevators were of and would be great help for all Senior Citizens and differently abled persons.
In fact, I still recall the other day when I was travelling to Mangalore some time in January, the plight of an old man with highly disbaled leg struggling to climb up the stairs the platform.

there are electric car avilable for senior citizen at bangalore station. any one can use them. the problem with elevators is over crowding. when it was operated for a few days after installation every time the over weight alarm used to ring and no one was ready to wait for next turn. the attendend had a very hard time as most of the time people used to ask him only to go out. so for the safety of passanger it has been suspented for passanger right now
I guess we Indians have always excuses! Is there any chance Indian Railways see these posts?

Depite lagging behind in having World Class Railway Stations, the major push has just started and now the thrust is on fast infrastucture growth. Over population is percieved as a plus and positive point for growth and economy both by developed countries. All (countries) eyes are now on India and China who has large population to their credits.
India is the best country (and not far far away) in the world in so far as respecting and caring senior citizens matter. Just evaluate such values in terms of percentage and not by one or two illustrations. India, in the world is still known by her rich values, heritage, sanskriti, love and affection, Much much can...
I wonder whether IRCTC is aware how hard it is for any one to visit/open their web page/site to make any booking between 8:00 hrs to 9:00 hrs in the morning. The page just does not open, if it does, one can not do any booking!
Any hope IRCTC is aware and looking at this problem and will reinforce their site??

I Support your point and It is very hard even to open this website and to book a ticket, it takes ages and when tried to contact IRCTC Customer care, they advise to use the website after 9.30 am, Can IRCTC look into this matter seriously and assist us so that all can login properly?

Using website after 9:30 means your chances to get in tatkal Quota is minimum.
Does Customer Care of IRCTC mean that passengers who book their train tickets on line should be deprived of getting confirmed tickets and lose money when cancelling the tickets and IRCTC make money? I guess this is organized legal robbery!!
