keeping out agent in a very first hour from tatkal ticket will definitel help other people as agents are biggest hurdles in getting tatkal tickets. it is the duty and the responsibilty of every individual that they should rely on themselves for any type of ticket whether it is tatkal or general ticket. good step from government. more and more strict action should be taken on agent. i am not very surprise to see in next 5 to 10 years that there would be no sign of ticket agents. goverment has opened so many new format to book the rail ticket then why agent should be involved?

one thing i suggest
process of agent union is not stop and make a association rate with suggestion of public and try to convenes rly authority for that rate.
once in pco local call rate is fix by two rs by union some body compliant to gm. verbal reply every body is taken this rate also in your city please on my complaint p action on all the pco.

also think Dallas are also saying papi pet ka sawal hea hum bhi acchai service ke hi paisa leh rehha . more risk ke karan jyada paisa lehte hea .

jab union ho na tabh union ko yeh bhi dekna hoga ki eak fix rate hone par kohi bhi agent usse jyada charge na kare. kohi customer se iska alwa ko thangi na ho. .
otherwise dallas aor hummeh kohi jyadha pharak nahi hea .
in competition market customer will also choose whom agent give best service in union fix rate

I am not an agent.But I think agents play an important role in everybody life even once in his/her life time.Not only in case of railway tickets but also in air tickets and hotel bookings in INDIA and abroad.We can travel anywhere without any tension because they take good care of us with nominal fee.
IRCTC should not banned all the innocent agents because this is the only way of their income..but they must take strict action against touts at prs counters.

The on-line railway ticket booking business will lose Rs. 300 crore per month and hardship for travellers will increase following the recent decision of the railway to suspend 1.50 lakh authorised e-ticketing agents, according to agents.

"A few franchisees of leading e-ticket agents might have misused the facility for making a fast buck, but IRCTC should not penalise the entire industry, " Gupta said.
Some of the big e-ticket agents like OSS Retails Pvt Ltd, ITZ Cash Card Pvt Ltd and Suvidha Star Net Pvt were offering e-tickets through franchisees. E-ticketing agents usually charge extra Rs. 5 to 10 per ticket.
Following the suspension, the black marketing of rail tickets has gone up considerably and unauthorised agents are fleecing customers, charging commission between Rs. 75 and Rs. 100 per ticket, the agents said.
OSS Group Chairman Subhash Jewria said the suspension was a temporary phenomena and e-ticketing will return soon as most of the agents are discussing the issue with IRCTC.
