I had booked a seat in AC Chair Car by 09726 DEE-JP Holiday Special for journey on 17.04.2016 ex- Rewari-Jaipur. However, on that date the train was run on a diverted route and it did not touch Rewari at all. National Train Enquiry System confirmed the same. I filed the TDR soon after. Today I received a mail from IRCTC that my claim has been denied on the grounds that, "the train ran normal/train was not cancelled, more than one reason." How to retrieve the journey status of that date so that I counter the decision of the concerned zonal railway concerned. Please help.

Hi, have observed that from past few days banks like ICICI have introduced additional OTP (One Time Password) requirement while booking the tickets, this is sent to your registered mobile number and post this only ticket booking is proceeded. This causes delay in execution of the transaction and many a times (like in tatkal) the tickets get exhausted. While earlier for IRCTC transaction the bank did not have OTP requirement.
Any idea how to bridge this up???
Thanks in advance.

Can't do anything as its on bank security policies to make the transaction secure, alternatively use SBI net banking if possible for faster transactions, they have disabled the feature of OTP for IRCTC.

is it net banking or debit card.
I uses net banking to book ticket. OTP comes, only if your system is not recognized one. If you have already used the laptop/pc for booking ticket, it won't come.
You can try for debit card also. It won't go to OTP.

Request you kind help and advise in the matter below:
I have booked an online tatkal ticket for my mother and sister. However, I was able to get one confirmed and one WL ticket. Friend kindly post the pnr in the pnr forum and secondly it is better to cancel a waiting TATKAL ticket as partiall cnf tatkal tkts are not auto cancelled and the money will be wasted instead u cancel the waiting passenger name from the tkt.

I think it would be better if you take taxi from Manmad to Shirdi. There are shared option available as well (if you want to try them). The moment you get out of the station, you will spot vans standing who take devotees to Shirdi (they take approx 1 to 1.5 hours & charges INR 100 to INR 150). If you want to hire individual taxis, that option is also available but would be comparitively costly.

This is with regard to Change of Boarding Point# while booking ticket.
Train travels from 'A' to 'C' and my desired boarding point is 'B'. However the ticket quota from 'B' is very minimal. I understand w.e.f Aug 01 2013, rules have been amended to provide that I can book a ticket from 'A' to 'C' with boarding from 'B'. In this case I will have benefit of utilizing quota of 'A' station (even though price would be higher but I would have a confirmed ticket).
My request to fellow members is to

I had read in one of the forum post that soon IRCTC would be soon allowing change of boarding point while booking e-ticket so that travellers can take advantage of ticket availability in bigger station having more quota (albeit at a higher price), thereby ensuring confirmed tickets. Can any of you please advise whether the facility has been started ?
And if Yes, would be highly greatful if related url of the news / press release can be given?

Thats so great !! Don't you think its a great initiative by Indian Railways. Though we have to shell out some extra bucks but it will ensure confirmed ticket. Kudos !!

And one more thing....now there is no restriction as for choosing boarding point within next one or two stations. It can be done for any station falling in the route. Isnt it ??
