I have booked a ticket from HWH - SBC (Boarding Point BBS) on train# 221817 (HWH-MYS) express. Now chart is prepared and status is still WL. I am unable to cancel the ticket via (IRCTC website). Called IRCTC and got the information that after chart prepared ticket can not be cancelled in IRCTC and if it is still in WL, then ticket will automatically cancelled, and amount will refunded to the original account in 3-4 days.
Just want to know the procedure mentioned by IRCTC executive is correct or something else i need to take care from my side to cancel this ticket. I am just worried because the amount is around 2500.

if this is a eticket and the ticket remained WL after charting then IRCTC will automatically cancel the ticket and return the money into your account that was used for booking.

Yes, waitlisted e-tickets are automatically cancelled.
The procedure told is correct.
The amount will be refunded in your account in 3-4 working days..

E-Tickets remaining in WL gets cancelled automatically, they are right you'll get refund within a week.

don't worry the information given by the irctc executive is 100% correct and u will get back ur refund in 3-4 working days....if a ticket remains in W/L after chart preparation,dont worry ur ticket will automatically be cancelled and the amount will be refunded in ur account,you don't need to do anything

Dont you worry Santosh . The procedure mentioned by the IRCTC executive is correct . Ur tkt will be automatically cancelled and the amount credited to ur account in 2/3 days .

Hello Friends,
Cross checking the A1 coach position of YPR-Dbrgarh (train # 15901) at KRPuram railway station. As it is mentioned in this site, A1 will be towards the front. I will be in trouble if by chance A1 will be towards back, as my aging parents cannot reach the coach A1 in the stipulated stopping time and moreover I am not travelling with them. Does this train always maintain the coach position as mentioned on this portal?
Please help me if you have any information on this.
am little bit worried as I have already faced this type of problem earlier, when they travelled last time in MYS-HWH (22818) from Bangalore city railway station. The designated coach was at the back of the train against the mentioned to be at front. Moreover on that crucial time no one helped me to find the exact coach position (either Station train enquiry/ railway help line). Thank god, I had availed free battery operated cart at City railway station and the operator came to my rescue.

Ok, Here is the update. Train was late by around 15 mins and stopped for nearly 15 mins. Ac compartments were towards front as reported but the sequence was different.
Loco - UR - UR - B2 - A1 - B1... ( Not sure, but as i recalled there was no B3 coach)
Went to general enquiry cum Ticket counter at outside of PF # 1 and bought 3 platform tickets. Asked the coach position to the person in charge and simple reply was " This is general enquiry counter and for the
coach information you have to go to the station master/ helpline 139). The funny thing is, they have closed the entrance to PF#1, one have to cross 3 rail tracks by foot from PF#2 and also the height of the PF# 1 to reach the station master. On reaching SM he told generally AC coaches come in the front of this train and called few numbers (totally 3-4 attempts) to confirm. No-one was picking his phone from other side. Finally I left from SM office with half hearted thank you to the SM and waited in the middle of the PF#2 , where the train was supposed to come because if the A1 coach come at the back of this train, so we can minimize the damage.
All's well that ends well.

Its wierd, coz the enquiry guys has a register in which he writes up the current status of train along with rake composition, i have personally such a register at MDP enquiry counter, and in SR they put a board of CC of trains passing that station, and in particular they even update it coz once i saw TVC raj with BE1 marked at TCR CC board or chart i must say which is put just right to the enquiry counter

Bapi, thanks for sharing your experience and also a HOME TRUTH. Like in cricket they say WHEN IN DOUBT PLAY FORWARD, while boarding a train, if you are IN DOUBT ABOUT CC, STAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PLATFORM :)

I have the very same issue with the enquiry persons in this railway station. Seems these persons are not well mannered and don't want to help any other human. Most of the time they don't do their duty properly. They live for themselves and their near and dear ones. I requested him, it is more important for me to know the coach position as my aging parents will not
able to reach the designated coach in time if the coach stays at back, but he didn't buzz from his stand. Anyway pray God to forgive him.

Yes, But the big question is, it never works in most of the places in IR and it is 100% valid for KRPuram railway station. Even if it will be in working condition the persons in charge won't use this system as they are too arrogant. Yesterday that person was announcing for all the train arrivals in english for all the 3 times (No local language Kannada & National language Hindi). One can hardly make out what he was saying on mic as if he was under ...

I have mentioned the SM's incident on my previous post. It is a small station and no one was there except the passengers at morning 1 O'clock. I saw few GRP/RPF persons (checking Velankani-Vasco small parcel boggie attached near to UR coach at front) and asked them too. They asked me to go to SM only. Chaiwalas can help and even i had the information that this coach will be at front from this portal but it depends upon the mercy of Indian railways, where they will fix what. They think all protocols are not applicable for them, it is only to frame the rules and to follow that it is upto them.
Off topic: Last year they forgotten to add the 2 tier coach in Mys- Hwh express and the Ticket Collector asked us to accommodate in 3 tier coach. I Just lunch a complain in Bangalore City railway station and finally they sent me an reply (in 2 months time) that the problem was happened at Howrah junction and your complain is forwarded to Kharagpur junction. No idea what happened to that complain as i didn't follow that after some time. If anyone wants the detailed proof of this, then i can attach this here. I have kept still all the proofs with me.

Hello Friends,
This is my first post in this portal.
Since airfare are sky rocketing now-a-days (mine is from BIAL to BBSR), this time i have planned to go to my native Balasore on 21st Dec by train. Today is the first day of booking for 21st Dec journey. Before 8 AM, found only 15 seats are available for II Ac category, which can booked via internet. My booking got over by 8:06 and below are the status of my tickets.
Own_choice railway_mercy
Father (67) Lower RAC I
Mother (59) Lower Side Upper
Wife Side Lower Upper
Self Side Upper RAC II
I just want to know why only 15 berths are released for net booking. Is it included the berths that can booked from railway counter ?
Both my parents have gone through major surgeries (like mother - spinal, father - total knee replacement on both legs) and i am just worrying how they can travel if at-least we won't get 2 lower berths. Even my 1 year old son will be with us. I will try to swap (to get at least 2 lower berths) with other fellow like minded travelers on spot. Friends do u have any idea what is the possibility that 2 of my RAC tickets will be confirmed and can the TTE help me to get 2 lower berths against the 2 RAC tickets (if it by chance get confirmed).
Do I need to post my PNR # here ?

You may cancel the name of your parents from the previous ticket. However there is no guarentee that the last two passengers would be allotted the same berths; i.e. 40 and 42.
Berths for the last two passengers would be allotted at the time of charting.
