I traveled on a Sunday. This train is Super-Duper fast... Once it is out of Chennai Central, the speed Triples and is just greater than Shatabdi Express' (90-100km/hr)
Correct me if I am wrong!

The only problem is that speed does not help, as the train reaches at very early hours. Better if the speed is regulated and passengers get proper sleep in train and they alight in Bangalore towards dawn.

Today 08/Nov/2010 I travelled in Tippu Exp. 2613. Awesome train. Super fast.. Kudos to TIPPU for reaching on time. He stops at Maddur for "Shatabthi Exp" crossing otherwise no unnecessary stops! Cool train for the people that wishes to travel at a lesser cost

Really? I wonder how! I checked the same site after I reached back home. It showed on time! Guess what? checking in the official site is always recommended. However, the train reached on time according to my watch

After Shatabdi express.. This is the only Fastest train I suppose between Bangalore nad Mysore. It has around 21 coaches if I am not wrong. Also, point to be noted. There are many General compartments in this train. The Engine looks awesome, it has great power to take a huge train like Tippu very easily!!!! On 8/11/2010 2-WDP4 engines were attached. I am not sure if the additional one was Active or not.

I should say this to all that the Tuticorin express is the worst train between Bangalore and Mysore. People needs to understand the concept of Advance booking. You will wonder, person that has ordinary ticket will easily gets into a reserved coach and travels. The thing that really pisses me off about the Tuticorin express is that it stops in every small town between Bangalore and Mysore. YUK!!!
Just wanted to give you a heads up the people that wishes to travel in Tuticorin exp. "PLease.. Please and please never travel in this train. Your Advance booking will never help you. If you still travel, Trust me, you will end up having a worst jounrey ever

Just because of this train. Tippu Exp 2613 is getting delayed everyday to enter SBC.. WTF ;-(
SWR filthy downloaders.. Please assign a spare Loco instead reversing the Same engine. Don't cause inconvenience to the prestigious Tippu Exp. 2613

To all those who like 2613 Tippu Express train between Mysore Bangalore, Sat Nov 13, 2010 would have given the best experience of a super fast train travel.
Departs Mysore at 12:10 p.m. while scheduled departure was 11 a.m.
A full 1 hour 10 minutes late in departure and I saw this train at Srirangapatna station around 12:28 p.m.
Now here is something interesting
...
to all of us.
As per the OFFICIAL DELAY STATUS
Mysore Departure on Nov 13, 2010 = 12:10 p.m.
Bangalore Arrival on Nov 13, 2010 = 1:40 p.m.
So total travel time = 1 hr 30 minutes.
Distance between Mysore Bangalore = 139 kms.
So 139 kms is covered in a span of 1 hr 30 minutes which gives us a result that the average speed of the train was 92.66 kmph? So now you should toss a coin to believe it or not?
This was faster than the Shatabdi express in the same route which covers the distance in 2 hours.
So before you travel in 2613 think twice if it is worth the superfast surcharge. It is always late and the average speed is less than 55 kmph. Unfit to title it as a super fast train. We commuters are taken for a ride and no justification towards surcharge of super fast.

Sorry, I should have said the above in the Tuticorin Express page. Since the above person had mentioned about Tuticorin Express in his message, I started putting down the things upfront here. Many thanks all!

I would thank One and All that helps updating the Arrival and Departure details. I booked my ticket to Mysore and my Date of Journey was on Saturday the 6/Nov/2010 (6am Departure) Unfortunately I couldn't make it on time to the SBC Railway Station. I Immediately logged into indianrailinfo.com and found the train was 30 min late (Isn't the info. sounds cool when somebody thinks that they might miss the train???) I rushed to the Railway station to check if the info that is showing up in this Site true. Guess what? I reached the station at 6:15am and Wow! The train is exactly 30 min late. Fortunately, I happened to make my journey in the same train!! I thank the persons that supports this website to run successfully. Also, I would request people to share the accurate railway details and help people!

What is your mode of reservation (E-reservation or counter reservation) E-reservatiion you are supposed to show the ID card be it Tatkal or general. However, it is otherwise for the counter reservation. You don't have to show any proof only the original TICKET will do!
Please correct me if I am wrong. Thanks one and all for the continued support!
