Why No.? Ramtek Stn. doesn't have a facility of cleaning the coaches & do maintenance?
I have ask because Ramtek stn. & line like a isolated line in Maharashtra, if it connect with Mumbai with direct train that it is get benefit to passenger in this area.
Nagpur JN. will reduce load. Some other train can take that slot at Nagpur Jn.

The name of Dadar-Sawantwadi train i.e. Rajyarani Exp. as changed with Tutari Express.
Is it possible for CR / KR to run both trains on basis of Kokankanya-Mandvi Exp.?
Rajyarni name is already famous. So let it run as per name. Its schedule should be change & make it slightly aggressive.

Similarly, in morning one train will start from Dadar which run as Dadar-Sawantwadi as Tutari Exp. & return in night as Rajyarani Exp.
Restart from Sawantwadi @ 11.30 & arri. @ dadar 9.30 pm is possible. (Mandvi Exp. @ Sawantwadi 10.44 am)
As in holidays / Festival special morning train is running from Dadar app. 8.50 am.
No need of any extra coaches/train set,
Presently at Sawantwadi Rajyarani / Tutari Exp is resting for 10.30 am to 18.50 pm. app. 8 hrs.

Completely agree wid u, I think this can be possible once Sawantwadi Terminus is ready.
We can have 2 sets of trains between Mumbai and Sawantwadi similar to Konkan Kanya and Mandovi with primary maintenance at Sawantwadi just as KK n Mandovi has PM at MAO
Rajya Rani departing Sawantwadi at 20:45 to reach Mumbai at 6:45 can again leave Mumbai as Tutari Express at around 9:00 to reach Sawantwadi at 19:00 in the evening. After overnight maintenance at Sawantwadi, the train will depart in the morning as Tutari express at around 10:00

to reach Mumbai at 20:00 and again departure form Mumbai at 23:55 as Rajya Rani express to arrive Sawantwadi at 9:55. After maintenance at Sawantwadi, the train will head to Mumbai as Rajya Rani at 20:45 n the RSA continues.
Also, since the trains have PM at SWV n are in Mumbai for jus couple of hours, they can start from C.S.T. as well because they wont be occupying the Platforms or sidings fro large amount of time at C.S.T.

Maximum AC coaches running on this line. Difficult to western suburb passenger to catch this trains. They have to travel lot in early morning to catch this trains.
After Tejas, CR is trying to stop DD Exp. (A News / roomer in the NP) as DD exp. 1) running in a day 2) taking lot of time from A to B 3) thrice a week 4) Less passengers.
My suggestion, CR can handover this train to WR to run as running in a day train from Mumbai Central to Madgaon. Same thrice a week. TT should be change Train can dep. 7.00 am from Mumbai Central & arri. at Madgaon 6.00 pm. vice-versa.
Stops. Dadar (for Mumbai CR passengers), Andheri, Borivali, Vasai, Upper Kopar (for Dombivali CR passengers), Panvel (for Navi-Mumbai / Thane CR passengers), Roha (CR zone last stn.), Khed, Chiplun, Ratnagiri (Dist. Place) , Kankavli, Sindhudurg (Oras) (Dist. Place), Kudal, Sawantwadi, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon.(Both side)
WR is already running Mumbai-Ahmedabad DD Exp from Mumbai Central, so there is no height problem for this train also. Due to Mumbai Central & Dadar stn. Main Mumbai city gets DD Exp. facility.
It will reduce the load of passengers from CR.
This is a good option for luxury bus running from Dahisar-Borivali to Goa.
Let the WR passengers get direct train for Konkan line. (Now IR has started Mumbai-Sealdah instead off Howrah.)

टैल्गो की बोगियां केवल 760 एमएम ऊंची हैं। इसलिए इनमें सुधार करना पड़ेगा। वैसे भी टैल्गो ने यह ट्रायल अपनी मर्जी और खर्च पर सिर्फ यह साबित करने के लिए किया है कि उसकी ट्रेन मौजूदा भारतीय ट्रैक पर ही बिना किसी सुधार के 180-200 किलोमीटर की रफ्तार से दौड़ सकती है। ट्रायल की कामयाबी से कंपनी का यह मकसद पूरा हो गया है। रेलवे अधिकारियों ने भी माना है कि टैल्गो टेन स्पीड के साथ-साथ सुरक्षा मानकों पर भी खरी उतरी है। दिल्ली से मुंबई पहुंचने में भले ही ट्रेन को ज्यादा समय लगा, लेकिन इसके लिए टैल्गो नहीं, रेलवे जिम्मेदार है जो ट्रैक को जलभराव से मुक्त रखने में नाकाम रहा। परिणामस्वरूप प्वाइंट फेल होने के कारण टेन को पहले कुछ समय के लिए मथुरा में इंतजार करना पड़ा। उसके बाद उडवाडा-वापी-भिलाड सेक्शन पर रफ्तार घटानी पड़ी। इसके बावजूद सूरत तक ट्रेन अपनी निर्धारित गति को कायम रखने में कामयाब रही। यह ट्रेन नई दिल्ली स्टेशन से शाम 7:55 पर रवाना हुई थी और अगले दिन सवेरे 11:36 पर मुंबई सेंट्रल पहुंची। इस तरह कुल मिलाकर इसने 15 घंटे और 44 मिनट का समय लिया। यदि हालात सामान्य होते तो इसे मात्र 12 घंटे, 47 मिनट का समय लगता। मुंबई राजधानी ट्रेन की औसत स्पीड 89.76 किलोमीटर प्रति घंटा है। जबकि, टैल्गो ने दिल्ली से सूरत के बीच 106.52 किलोमीटर की औसत स्पीड निकाली। 1अभी तक टैल्गो ने न तो किसी टेंडर प्रक्रिया में भाग लिया है और न ही कोई कांट्रैक्ट हासिल किया है। इसने हाईस्पीड ट्रेन सेट्स की विफल हो चुकी निविदा प्रक्रिया से भी खुद को दूर रखा था। ऐसे में टैल्गो को मौका देने के लिए रेलवे को नए सिरे से निविदाएं आमंत्रित करनी पड़ेंगी तथा इस जैसी तकनीक वाली अन्य कंपनियों को भी आमंत्रित करना पड़ेगा। इसमें लंबा समय लग सकता है।नई दिल्ली रेलवे स्टेशन पर दिल्ली से मुंबई के ट्रायल रन पर जाती टैल्गो ट्रेन।हरीश कुमार

Talgo train means IR's MG train coaches (Size), which is outdated. IR need maximum passengers at a time with speed. Trail with 9 coaches only. If our rajdhani will run with 9 coach they will also get this speed. Better to take technology from telgo & not train.

On dt. 14 Nov. 2015 I have tried to take a ride of Neral Maheran NG train. The facts observe:-
1) Local trains totally jam for Neral & Karjat. After a gap of 40-50 min. there is a one local train for Neral i.e Karjat or Khopoli. Good i.e. 12 coach train.
2) Huge rush to get a tickets.

one goods coach to the train. (10.40 am train) 2 hrs. for one sin-gal trip.
4) Regularly only 3 trains running i.e. 6.40 am, 9.10 am & 10.40 am
5) Weakened i.e. SAT & SUN additional service @ 12.10 pm (On 14 th Nov. they have canceled this service due to engine maintenance work.
6) Only app. 200 tickers are issued. ticket charges GN Rs. 60 & FC Rs. 300 (total 200 passengers including children's with half ticket.)
7) No reservation on IRCT site or in advance tickets system. Tickets issue only 30 min. before train dep.
8) One passenger gets only 4 tickers.
9) On ticket fare board mentioned reservation tickers as GN Rs. 75 but no reserved ticket issued.
10) No good canteen service on Neral station.
11) No return ticket issued at Neral or Matheran.
12) After 12.10 trains there is 5.00 pm last train from Neral to Matheran. There is a lot of passengers coming after 1.00 pm also. nut there is no train service.
13) No standing passengers are allowed in this NG train.(Strictly)
14) Train tickets are not available by any other railway staff or outside agent etc. Ticket distributor is very straightforward going through rules only no side business.
15) Seen the NG car shed very near to NG station. There is app 3-4 engines & two trains set with 4-5 passenger coach standing.
16) On Neral station 2 passenger & 2 goods coach standing.
17) Ticket distribution is still by old manual system. No computerized ticket issued. It is time consuming. On ticket the ticket he will put a rubber stamp of date & by manually he will mentioned a seat Numbers.
18) Wash room facility is not good. Washrooms are in poor condition & very ugly. That is also on railway station nr. NR line. out side this railway station there is no facility of wash room.
19) Food quality at Neral on station & out side station is very poor. Better not to eat outside & used packed food pkt.
20) Passengers came out from Que & after dep. of 10.40 train ,when CR announce that 12.10 train has been cancelled & last train @ 5.00 pm tickets will issue @ 4.30 pm. that time passengers run for taxi.
21) Many taxi drivers agents know this that there is shortage of tickets so they came to passengers for their taxi service, still passengers don't want to go with them.
22) Private Taxi stand very near towards East of stn. towards Kalyan side. Taxi offering 70 /- per passenger even to children & 5-7 passengers in one taxi. No security. This taxi up to Aman Ladge only.
23) No road for taxi stand.
24) Huge Que to taxi also. Difficult to children & Sr. citizens. due to bad road condition.
25) No State transport bus running. Due to lack of passengers response Maharashtra state transport stop this services.
26) Bus station condition is very very very poor say very bad. only small stones & dust.
If really Maharashtra state & IR want to develop Maheran hill Station they have to stop this Private Taxies to reduce pollution & increase the train facility.

Hi,
You have summarized all points in one post. Fully agree to all of them. Also, the taxi drivers drive in a very rough manner and they just want to reach to the top as fast as they can so that they can get some return fair (if thats their thinking). Many times they don't even have change if you give 500 or 1000 rupee note.

It uses 550 DC Overhead catenary for supply.
This is one of the cheapest mode of transport and its Eco friendly too.
It uses Standard Gauge track to run the Tram.

While almost all routes are on-street running, the tram runs on reserved track across the Maidan between Esplanade and Kidderpore.

There are interchanges with metro at Belgachhia, Shyambazar, Esplanade, Kalighat and Tollygunge. Shobhabazar, Mahatma Gandhi Road, Central, Jatin Das Park and Rabindra Sarobar metro stations also have tram accessibility.

Mumbai city govt. has removed Tram system from mumbai. Kolkatta has a singal & double car tram, Mumbai at that time had a double deck tram, why CTC is not trying for DD tram Service?

Because trams don't make sense in big cities. Trams can barely run in Kolkata now during peak times and nobody prefers them. Driving a train kinda vehicle in the middle of the road in dense traffic ain't a good idea.

Missing link is - Ticket counters, indicators of trains, washrooms (Gents & ladies) etc...

it possible to include information about the maintenance of train? like stabling line numbers? Washing coach facility, Engine work shop, coach work shop, many others.....
eg. Udyan Exp (towards Bangalore) - At Solapur checking of wheels, water feeling, electric lights & fans checking, washroom cleaning and some other .....This happens within few minuets with machine, equipment's etc.
Similarly at Dadar Terminal after termination of train in railway yard there is lot kinds of maintenance going on with train coach & engine.
I don't know how many types of maintenance is required for engine & coach. You can guide very well.
Other knowledgeable members can put their inputs what kind of repair & maintenance can done on station or at terminal station?
