A term which is common in the world of Locomotives is "Gear Ratio".
This blog is dedicated to explore the term "Gear Ratio" in detail.
What is Gear Ratio?
Ans: The gear ratio of a gear train, also known as its speed ratio, is the ratio of the angular velocity of the input gear to the angular velocity of the output gear. The gear

ratio can be calculated directly from the numbers of teeth on the gears in the gear train. The torque ratio of the gear train, also known as its mechanical advantage, is determined by the gear ratio. The speed ratio and mechanical advantage are defined so they yield the same number in an ideal linkage.

The meaning of 1/3,2/3 here also means the amount of Tractive Effort applied(in terms of physics).

Yes correct when deceleration is done then it is called braking effort. Here "Regenerative Brake" is denoted as the braking effort.

Regarding CLW you may see my two of these visits out of three. You may find some information. Regarding SER i do not have any idea. As per my knowledge and also my visit to SRC ELS, the shed needs to be renovated and upgraded for 3 phase maintenance.
And yes after the codal life of M4 ends it will be withdrawn.

Regarding CLW, the production of G7 and P4 may stop this year. It all depends on tenders. If material supply is in abundance expect G7 and P4 production to come to an end. And if not, it will continue.

Taking a glance at the "Premium AC Express Section "(Yet to be introduced)in recent timetable(September 2014 edition) I think IR should provide a "Premium AC Express with LHB Coaches" to cater to the demand of Gujrat bound passengers from Howrah in a less amount of time than the existing SF expresses. Because prevalent Superfast trains in this route have taken a great deal of time due to plethora of stoppages these train have between HWH and ADI(both in Up and Down Trips).
The trains are:
22830 SHALIMAR BHUJ WEEKLY

SF EXP
12950 SRC PORBANDAR WEEKLY SF EXP
12938 HWH GANDHIDHAM GARBA SF EXP
12906 HWH PORBANDAR SF EXP
12834 HWH ADI SF EXP
"Non Stop Duronto" won't be popular or profitable in this long route of 2088 km rather a "Weekly or biweekly Premium AC Exp with LHB Coaches" can be popular and profitable if introduced in this "Crowded Route".
IR is requested to think deeply about introducing a "Weekly or biweekly Premium AC Exp with LHB Coaches " from Howrah to Ahmedabad in future having selected important stoppages.
