Being at Ahmedabad Station can I purchase a general ticket for Mumbai-Pune.

I want to inquire for 12903 Golden Temple Express for going to Amritsar from Vadodara on 24-02-2011. It is showing WL 17/WL 12 in sleeper. will it get confirmed if i get the ticket??
