Boss, India is huge country with big, very big poverty issues. IR should deploy staffs to prevent such people from taking shelter in railway stations. This is a very big task for railways to monitor each and every stations from big to small in every state and IR has got much more important activities than this!
I have seen Central railways work to control this menace at LTT and Dadar for few days, but couldn't succeed. They have given up! And now beggars spoil the newly modified LTT also. It was shameful to see this happening at a modified railway terminus.
Still,

As stated by the originator of this post, please no controversy. I am giving my opinion and you are getting angry.
Your reply point no 2 - please open your eyes... this is very common in India.
Your reply point no 3 & 4 - Beggars are not the only one who litter, spit and defecate on the stations. But yes, they are major contributors to it. Same is the case for crimes.

Ya my eyes are open, also having worked with rehabilitation of many destitutes, I know for a fact that only few beggars are there who let their govt. provided houses for rent (media highlights them and some believe that poor people are crooks and are deliberately remaining poor and love living in slums).
-
The ads that govt. tom-toms about providing houses is for a very few. Millions are homeless and millions live in makeshift huts. The fact that so many die every winter in North without/inadequate shelter, itself proves it.
-
...

Beggars can afford to buy all sorts of packaged food? The wrappers and covers and bottles one sees littered across tracks, beggars threw them from trains?
-
They commit most crimes? What sort of mentality is this, that anyone from upper class are good outstanding members of society and the poor/homeless/orphans/beggars/lepers are thieves and criminals ?
-
You made sweeping generalities and I responded and I am being accused of being controversial.
-
I am not batting for them to live their life in stations, but we need to understand (if possible help) this oppressed class and how with no other means/shelter they come and sleep in stations.

As said above, Pune Hyderabad express is not for end to end passengers. The immediate solution is start Duronto from LTT at around 6pm, so that it comes to Pune by 10 pm and reaches HYd at 7AM. This will be a good support for passengers to travel overnight and Durronto patronage will also increase. Similar should be reverse timing, leave SC by 8PM, reach pune by 6 AM and LTT by 10AM.

Calcutta-based dance teacher Swadesh Kumar and his friends (below) are all prepared to enjoy the ride as Dhanbad-Howrah Double Decker Chhath Puja Special (02386) chugs out of Dhanbad station on Sunday after a gap of a year.
The special AC train with 638 seats, however, had only 50 passengers on its comeback run.
To run till November 8, the train was flagged off from Dhanbad station at 7.40am in the presence of DRM Manoj Krishna Akhauri and other senior officials.
It

reached Howrah at 1pm, an hour behind schedule.
A frequent traveller between Howrah and Dhanbad, Pawan Verma said they had a comfortable journey except for the fact that the train reached Howrah an hour late. He also confessed he felt hungry during the trip.
"I think the train should have some catering arrangements. Even vendors were not allowed inside," said Verma, who was travelling along with family and a friend.
But, Verma also added the train should continue to run so that the passengers could have an alternative after Coalfield Express morning blamed on the inconvenient timings and higher fares. In its earlier stint from 2011 to 2015, the train (12385 Up) started from Howrah at 8.35am and arrived in Dhanbad at 12.50pm. On return journey, it (12386 Down) used to depart from Dhanbad at 6.30pm and reach Howrah at 10.40pm.
On its return journey, the train (02385) left Howrah at 2.35pm and reached Dhanbad at 6.50pm. The train has three stops between Dhanbad and Howrah - Kumbardubi, Barakar and Asansol. Its fare is Rs 545 for an adult and Rs 390 for a child.

I agree with you. NDLS to ASR and Chandigarh should be experimented with ACDD. For that matter, then can reduce 1 shatabdi to chandigarh and use those coaches for some other shatabdi potential route. Even Mumbai to Pune and Nasik could be experimented with ACDD, as the Volvo bus fares are higher than ACDD fares.
As LHB trains are 160 kmph potential, Gatimaan could also be ACDD so that concept could be reintroduced in India with fanfare.

(1) Gatiman's speciality is it being a super premium train(much better than Shatabdi). Its fares are higher than Shatabdi due to much superior on board facilities/food and train host/hostess. AC DD is a higher volume and inferior travel than normal ACC and its fares should have been kept a bit lower than ACC. So ACDD coaches in Gatiman shall go against its super luxury status. (I wonder what would be difference between the Gatiman & proposed Tejas & Shatabdi of course)
(2) Mumbai-Pune is excellent destination for ACDD but existing rail route is longer than Mum-Pune express way route, it is full of curves and steep gradients since it was planned and constructed about 150 years ago. A cumulative effect is much

higher journey time than buses/ cars. So major traffic is on the Mum-Pune expressway
Today a straight rail track without curves and gradients but with longer tunnel route & without any speed restrictions/ banking loco is possible. Such track shall have higher initial cost but the recurring saving of fuel cost, journey time, operation/maintenance cost shall make it a better option.
I personally wish that instead of extra track from Kalyan-Pune, IR should construct straighter route from LTT to Pune via thane creek which may be any where around 120-140km long. This may run parallel to existing tracks for some length (LTT-Vashi, and for some distance from Pune along Pune-Karjat line) and run 160kmph+ full ac trains (60-90 minute journey for non stop/with stops journey) and 130kmph non ac LHB trains (75-105 minute journey) in large numbers. Passenger response to these "desi bullet trains" shall give a good indication whether bullet trains for about 500km journey shall be be successful in India or not?

Bad selection of the route is the biggest reason. It was known to Railways the no one will travel in this and again it would be a flop still the train was launched. Why don't they just transfer the rake to some other zone where an Intelligent use of that could be done.

I agree that Gatimaan is super luxurious train. But to increase the tourism in Agra, a normal AC Superfast train could serve the purpose. AC DD can in fact make 2 rounds to Agra in a day. The journey time of 2 hrs could also not be a issue for those uncomfortable seats of DD.
Your second point of a new track between Pune and Mumbai. This is apart from a costly affair, not a immediate solution. They can attract passengers on this route by offering a ticket price lower than Volvo bus and lesser journey time by traveling via Panvel Vashi to Kurla and Dadar with halts at Panvel and Vashi. AC DD via Vashi sounds odd but worth giving

I disagree to the point that IR knew no one will travel in this train and still it was launched. They never had idea that DD will be a big flop show. It is only that train concepts are introduced without prior study.

By 2021, Mumbai will catch up with cities like Delhi, London, Paris, Bangkok that have Metro railway lines running right up to their airports. The groundbreaking ceremony for construction of metro stations at the integrated Terminal 2, at the domestic terminal at Santacruz and on Sahar road as part of the 33.5km Colaba-Bandra-SEEPZ line took place on Friday.
In September 2015, Mumbai International Airport (MIAL) signed an MoU with Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) and pledged to contribute Rs 777 crore for these stations on the Metro III corridor. “The work of piling and excavation on the corridor has begun with a workforce of more than 500. Out of this, more than 70 are expats contributing their skill-sets to the project along

with local engineers and co-worker,“ said the MMRC spokesperson.
The Metro III corridor is expected to enhance connectivity to all major hotspots in the city. Currently, due to traffic congestion, travelling from south Mumbai to the airport takes more than an hour during peak hours. With this project, the time needed to travel to the airport is expected to reduce significantly.
