Pl understand the situation. There is a move to divert both Kamban and Mannai Expresses via Peralam-tiruvarur route. If it is done, then Kumbakonan and thanjavur will not have a train through Mayiladuthurai route to Chennai. Rockfort is there but it is a different matter. Then Kumbakonam and thanjavur have to be provided with a train. Thanjavur and Kumbakonam have a big crowd. It cannot be simply neglected. Now, they may divert Kamban through Peralam but keep Mannai in the original route. The best solution will be divert Mannai through Peralam with some coaches to Karaikal and some to Mannargudi with attachment/detachment at Tiruvarur. And the present Kamban should be terminated at Thanjavur. But, political pressure is big and thinking differently.

You are unable to book from 11.10.12 because kamban Express is removed from the booking system from that date. This means they are contemplating big changes. Only after the changes are finalised, it will be fed into the system. Till such time nothing can be done. the change is nothing but diverting through peralam route and the quota to the places.

I use to book my tickets 4 months in advance. Last week when I tried to book ticket to Thiruvarur from Chennai in Karaikal Express (16175), I got a message in the screen as "sorry no matches train found", tried to enquire it in helpline, no one has given prompt reply. Today while surfing IRCTC again I found that no trains available after 11th October 2012 from Chennai to Thiruvarur. What happened to this train 16175 and 16176. Pls respond.

There has recently been a lot of frustration among RFs when their Station Pics, Loco Pics, Train Pics get rejected because the "number is not showing", "shed is not visible", the loco/train is at a distance, Train Board is too small, "better pic available", etc. . To address this issue, effective tomorrow, ALL...

-@all members: As of recently, there has been a trend whereby minor name updates of Trains/Stations - whether such and such regional name should be there or not, whether the train should be called "Abc Express" or "Abc Superfast Express", etc. are threatening to take over the majority of Timeline entries. Also,...
